Everyone's colors are so pretty so far. Jaba, I like your choices in the second picture best.

lawsonmugs 05-01-2016 01:08 PM

Jaba I love the second set and i'm not really a pink person. Playswithcolor those are pretty. Nice combo.

lawsonmugs 05-01-2016 01:09 PM

Karen we seem to agree a lot on our fabrics. lol.

playswithcolor 05-01-2016 01:55 PM

Revised fabrics

I found a better background fabric.... so had to juggle a bit. I have a FATQ of hand dyed fabric left that should cover fabric B. The darker green might be sashing?

gramquilter2 05-01-2016 02:20 PM

Need to get busy and check my stash and can hardly wait for the next clue.

coopah 05-01-2016 03:33 PM

I'll ride along!

I, and a few others, just happened to use florals - not a requirement. And I like your fabrics.

paintmejudy 05-01-2016 04:11 PM

JABA - I like the colors in both photos, maybe partial to the top pix with its darker hues. But I worry about your top floral, is there a lot of white background?

jaba 05-01-2016 05:13 PM

No Judy, background is a "tanish" on off white to cream color about 2" apart before another floral. I have plenty so can fussy cut if necessary.

Daisy Dew 05-02-2016 02:56 AM

Happy to be on the Train once again - I'll take a deep breath and happily sit back enjoy my fabrics and everyone else's.

question for Judy - will using a directional fabric be advised? Well I'm going shopping in my stash to see what I com up with.

jmoore 05-02-2016 02:56 AM

Playswithcolor... I like the change you made, it's gonna look great.

Belfrybat 05-02-2016 05:06 AM

I like everyone's selections.
Jaba -- I like the top selection, but pink is not a favourite of mine, so I'm biased.
I've decided to go with my top selection with more greens. I tend to over-do blues as it's my favourite colourand need to branch out more.

OMG! That is going to be fantastic! I adore your focus fabric and you've found perfect mates!
All the sets posted are lovely and we are gonna see many wonderful results (but I'm drooling for yours!)
Would you share details about your focus fabric.? Sure would match my multi-purpose room!

Ok, I'm posting again with letters for the possible arrangement. As I said before, the paisley is not orange, its yellow/ gold, and the F print is not black its chocolate brown. Judy, how does this order work?

Bluebonnets 05-02-2016 09:03 AM

What a lovely mystery this is going to be! Loving all of the fabric choices and I can't wait to see them all pieced!

whitepine 05-02-2016 10:43 AM

Wow, these are a bunch of gorgeous fabrics. You guys have been hiding for best for now. I doubt I'll be able to keep up on this one so will just sit in the club car and eat and listen to the chatter. I'll stop by the local farmer's market and pick up some Nanaimo Bars.

Thinking of working with this. A-E from left to right, F being the beige and cream print. I think I can double it. Whew! Time to head to the club car and get something sweet to eat.

Roma Bauder 05-02-2016 02:41 PM

Just got home from a fishing trip, so will start looking for the fabric. I'm running trying to catch the train. I think I'll need a stiff drink about now. LOL

Roma Bauder 05-02-2016 02:55 PM

Judy..... for Fabric B will a fat quarter work ?

busy fingers 05-02-2016 11:21 PM

Such gorgeous fabrics appearing on my screen.

I am so much wanting to join in on this ride and finished off No 12 a few weeks ago so that I could join in with a clean slate but when I look at what I have committed to I am beginning to feel "swamped" . I still have a couple of days before the next clue goes up and I am hoping to get stuck into some serious sewing on Thursday and Friday.

paintmejudy 05-03-2016 07:17 AM

BlueB - thumbs up to how pretty they are. And also love the fabric they are laid out on.

Roma - glad you joined us. And yes, a FQ will be enough for the B fabric.

Busy - Now, now, when has a bunch of commitments interfered with starting another small project! You can fit us in, I just know it.

whitepine - we will miss you

Ripped on Scotch 05-03-2016 09:51 AM

I've missed a couple train rides now but I think I may just have to join you ladies on this one. I'll raid my stash this evening and post a photo soon.

SunlitenSmiles 05-03-2016 09:57 AM

Ok I changed out my E fabric and I think I like it better. Do you think it will work Judy? The other one was kinda dull. The first picture is the new E choice. Oh Boy do we keep Judy busy or what! lol.

lawsonmugs 05-03-2016 10:08 AM

Hi ripped glad to see ya too.

Nice train ride with a finished project at the end. Is it to late to start? I never joined a group project.
If it is to late it will be ok, I will still look and learn as I am not too good as of yet. Thanks!

lynnie 05-03-2016 12:59 PM

Thank goodness Dotty told me the train was leaving. Just got to jump on at the last minute. Almost dropped the chocolate wine ladies, but I didn't!!!! It's in the club car with a small fire to roast your marshmallows on for s'mores. i use a tea light in a floral clay pot. I also brought sticks for the marshmallows to be toasted on, so no burnt fingers.

I got a floral, but it's super bright, sunglasses bright, with cute little bugs, some lime green, hot pink, blues and oranges and yellows. also pulled my fabrics, except my neutral. that may have to be shopped for, maybe a tiny pindot of color. I love Mary's fabrics. I'd love a topper of those fabrics. Mine are those bright colors. hope it works out. waiting for the next clue, while eating s'mores and chocolate wine!

have a grat ride everyone!!!

SunlitenSmiles 05-03-2016 01:29 PM

welcome aboard Sherian....we just started out .....some of us (like me) have not positively decided on our fabrics.....so you are really right on time :):sew:

Thanks so much, I plan on having a great trip. Will check out my stash. I have a peacock fabric (10"), I really like it. Guess I will have to pass it up this time. The fabric I am seeing here looks great!

sherian 05-03-2016 10:31 PM

red white blue (white is off white in all fabric)

2 Attachment(s)
Ok have picked - red - white (really more off white in fabric on all fabric) - blue. Not sure on order.
1 flag print -(main print) - 1 red and white printed & 1 blue and white print - same pattern

sherian 05-03-2016 10:34 PM

Ok I do not know how I did it. I got fabric picks for you to see and also my granddaughter's prom picture.
Also the top fat quarters were some I was thinking about, they did not make it.
Need to know what fabric is the main piece - flag print for that - would that be E,
would that be center of block and sashing for flag?

klaws 05-04-2016 05:00 AM

Thanks sherian for the red, white and blue idea. I haven't picked my fabric out yet but like that theme. Your granddaughter is beautiful! Thanks for the picture. :)
Mary, I like your selection of fabric and Lynnie thanks for the chocolate wine! Yummm!!!

SunlitenSmiles 05-04-2016 06:26 AM

grrrrrrrrrrrr...could do red white and blue from stash.....really wanted to do grey white and charcoal but my online quilt shops are out of the fabrics I wanted to use......sigh, I would be really great to have R,W,B for July fourth...decisions !

Lovely g'daughter, Sherian.

Thinking and rethinking. Considering changing my mind to this group. It can be a bed size quilt, which I like.

The blues aren't quite right in the pic. It's a grayed blue.

sherian 05-04-2016 07:38 AM

Thank you, Klaws, Suliten Smiles, Blue Bonnets

I really could not find what I wanted, in my to big stash. I do buy fabric in themes - like Christmas - snowmen - summer, winter, beach, or Christian type fabric etc. That is how choose fabric by theme. Then it hit me red, white and blue fabric theme in my stash, tried to add some fat quarters I had, but no go. THANK YOU! KLAWS, SUNLITEN SMILES, and BLUE BONNETS.
It only took me over more than a hour trying to load my photo. My granddaughter was the picture above my fabric. How she ended up under my fabric in same frame I do not know. I am very proud of Casey and my 3 other grandchildren. Have a great day everyone!

paintmejudy 05-04-2016 08:03 AM

Ripped Glad you are back, we missed you

Mary Like the new fabrics

Sherian Of course it is NEVER too late to start. We haven't done anything but pick fabrics so far, you are fine. Glad you are joining.

BlueB Your new colors are nice, too. Still time to make your decision.

Ooooo Lynnie is on the train. We have missed you, too, so glad you came along. Where is your friend Dotty? Haven't seen her yet.

Don't know about you, but I am getting excited about all the pretties I am seeing. Going to be another batch of winner toppers.

lawsonmugs 05-04-2016 12:52 PM

Thanks Judy.lov e the fabric combos so far. The yellow and blue/gray looks like yellow and gray on my computer. It's really very pretty and bright. gray and yellow seems to be in right now. I love that combo.

lynnie 05-04-2016 03:35 PM

Judy, Dotty should be along soon. I think she's jumping on at the next stop. I figured I'd stay on and pig out on all the chocolate, strawberries and cheesecake. S'mores and chocolate wine too. I'm heading to the club car right now for a dinner of cheesecake and chocolate mousse. Had to switch my colors, but kept most of them and changed my big bright one, the "A" one.
