Paintmejudy- everyone has left Utica practically. It's a ghost town, sadly. I would never live there now.

So, using this formula, I came up with starting squares of 4 1/8” to make this type of HST. I may test my theory later today with scrap fabric. I’m not secure enough to use the fabric for this train ride! Actually, I’ve made the pinwheels already so I don’t need more.

I'm using brown tones and have done all the pinwheels the same. Background blocks are different fabrics.

I'm not going to work on mine for a while, I don't really like any of the options I've come up with. Though I do know that no matter what I go with, someone will love it. And since my plan is to give away most of what I make, that works.

I think I'll make another trip to the fabric store and see what I can find. I think maybe a bold black/white print may work.

Macybaby, I liked your first plan with the dark gray but agree that it might be too dark. Maybe a lighter shade of gray.
