Here is this month's BOM
This is one of my designs. It uses my Boston Blocks and HSTs. http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493744&stc=1 The layout of the blocks http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493745&stc=1 You will need to make: HSTs - http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...ks-t37915.html 4- of this one.....16 of this one.....4 of this one http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493746&stc=1.... http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493747&stc=1.... http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493751&stc=1 Edit per member "Boston Block = the green one should be 8 of these instead of 4" Boston Blocks - http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...s-t193649.html 4 of this one.......4 of this one http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493749&stc=1.... http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493750&stc=1 |
Now here is the Quilt block broken down
It only looks complicated but it isn't. The quilt block broken down into a 9 patch I like to make 4 patches and set them into the 9 patch placing http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493752&stc=1 The 4 patches broken down You'll need to make 4 of this unit http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493754&stc=1.....http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493755&stc=1 You'll need to make 4 of this unit http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493756&stc=1.....http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493757&stc=1 You only need one of this unit as it is the center. http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493758&stc=1.....http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493759&stc=1 So once you learn to make HSTs and my Boston Blocks you can easily sew these 4 patches into the quilt block. You will need a template to make this. I offer a 2 1/2" template for free. You can send me a pm with your postal address and I'll be happy to send you a template. Template sizes: You can use any size template you like. To make your quilt block a different size you just need to use a different size template. 2 1/2" = 12 1/2" unfinished quilt block. 1 1/2" =6 1/2" unfinished quilt block 3 1/2" = 18 1/2" unfinshed quilt block. 4" = 21 1/2" 4 1/2" = 24 1/2" 5" 27 =1/2" and 5 1/2" = 30 1/2" |
thanks for taking the time to post your tut

That is a beautiful block. Thanks for posting the tutorial and detailed layout.
Your second Block is stunning. Love the colors ....
I think bigger blocks with sashing will make a great baby quilt! Stunning! |
i'm glad you liked it RN quilter. I love to share the design possibilities of my shortcut blocks.
IF you make a baby quilt with this quilt block I'd love to see it! |
What a pretty block. Thank You so much for all the tutorials you do for us.
It's a really great block even for advanced quilters. I can see this with one other unique block for a stunning two block quilt.
Love this, I can't resist a 3D looking block.
thanks everyone. I love the 3D look. I've always loved optical illusions since I was a kid.
Reference was made to the "second block". Is the first block still available? If so, please provide the link. And how many blocks were be provided? Sorry I missed the beginning of this BOM. This is a beautiful block.
And, when I read the numbers of each of the 36 blocks, there are only 32 mentioned. I think the last one should be 8 rather than 4. Am I reading the directions correctly? Will watch for the reply. |
Oops You're right Suz the last one should be 8. I'll see if I can have QuiltnNan fix that for me.
You can find all of my BOMs here Blocks of the Week by Rhonda I did a Sampler quilt along a few years ago and then I did a second Sampler the next year. they are all there in that section. Almost missed this one. Was looking at September's block thread for this months block. Love October's! So much potential, going to have to think about my fabric choices on this one. Hope I can get that 3D look using calicos. Rhonda: I am thinking about going back and researching your prior posts and incorporating some of your older blocks. If I share with a photo, should I post it to the original thread or to this one?
You can post either way. If you do this one maybe put it here. You could post all of them here if you like. It's up to you. I'm sure we'll see them either way
Ok, so you are trying to grab me again. I don't have time at least now to do these, but I sure am going to follow you again, and just made a new folder for the current stuff. Love your avatar too.
Well Katie my dear I just can't stop the designing flow. LOL I love to play and this is a great way to use the quilt blocks that happen.
I have been going thru your archive of blocks and have printed many. They are all beautiful and it is hard to do them all and some I think are just plain spectacular. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Thank you Suz I am glad you enjoy my designs.
