Hmmm Is the spool in properly when you had that spot of trouble with it. Only other thing I can suggest is to rethread, switch it off and then on again and see what happens.

Cre8, your quilts are lovely!!! You do fantastic work!
Lesley, I pray that it will be a simple fix for your machine!! Please let us know what they say. ;) Well, everyone I have finished the last block in my second row. I still need to post a pic, and I will do that when I finish here. I'm NOT looking forward to those narrow points on block #22!!!! You all might be hearing some unflattering words flying out of my mouth as I work on that one!!!!!      |

I can hear the wheels turning!!
I'm sure there are some great ideas coming. |
I have been working on Block #6 & was stitching along quite nicely when, all of a sudden, the 4 scroll pieces weren't the right size! They wre at least 1/2" too short. I don't have the foggiest notion how that happened as I only worked 1 block at a time when i was setting this whole quilt up. I mean, they were nowhere close to the right size or did they have the correct curve. No way I could use them, so tonight I re-drew the freezer paper pieces and made them over. This block is full of long, tapered points. I am no better at doing them now than when I started this block!!! I have 1 more scroll to applique & then the last 4 crescent pieces & the block is ready for the embroidery. But, man, those points!!!!!

Kathy, I feel so badly for you! How frustrating to have that happen!! Oh, and if you EVER discover the secret to getting those dang narrow points to come out nice and pointy and all the fabric to stay stuffed beneath the tip, PLEASE let me know!!!! :D :D I'm working on block 22, and it's a real struggle! I stitched down four of the outer "leaves" but so-o-o-o many left to do!! I keep looking at all the points in it, and I want to run and hide!!
|
Oh Kathy...I feel your pain!! LOL. So sorry that happened to you. I cut all the pieces for block #3 last night and man, I'm dreading it...scrolls and skinny points!! I'm afraid I'm not any better on them than when I started this journey either..... Hope you are back on track now..

Update on Sweetie - they think it's the timing that has gone, and it's under guarantee, so huge sigh of relief. So they offered me a good deal - they will fix the timing, and give her a free service, and will pay the shipping one way, so I only have to pay for shipping in one direction.
If I had waited until some time next year, and she needed a service, I would have had to pay for that, and shipping both ways, so I was happy with their offer. I am waiting for an email now with details on exactly what they want me to send back, and they will arrange for collection, rather than me having to find a courier from this end. Just to put you in the picture, there are no HQ dealers in the country (Northern Ireland or here), in fact as far as I know, there is only one long arm dealer at all, (Gammill, way down in the south of the country) I knew I would have to deal with the service issue in due course, but hadn't bargained on a timing problem. |
i am glad you got a solution that was pleasing for you

Thank goodness this happened now and not when the warrenty/guarantee was over!! I hope they fix the problem quickly, and you can get her back home so she can get back to work!! :D
