Did everyone else remember the split squares? Y'all are only posting pics of your 4-patches.

Week 5.

I’m not sure if today’s blocks have a name, since they don’t seem to be standard components. I call them L-blocks. See the picture and you’ll understand why.

You will be making 20 (24) L-blocks in Fabric #2 and Fabric #3.

Sew one strip of #2 to a strip of #3. Crosscut them into twenty 2-inch subunits. You should have 2 strips left of #2. Cut these into 20 3.5 inch blocks. Sew these to the crosscut subunits to make the L. (3.5 strips each of #2 and #3. Your subunits are 3 inches; from your remaining strips cut 24 5.5 inch strips for the L.)

You will be making 16 (20) L-blocks in Fabric #1 and Fabric #3. Sew one strip of #1 to a strip of #3. Crosscut 16 subunits from this. From the remaining strip of #1, cut 16 3 1/3 inch blocks. Sew these to the previous units for the L. (Queens will need about 1.5 strips each of #1 and #3. Again, your subunits are cut at 3 inches. Cut your remaining strips of #1 into your 5.5-inch units for the L.)

You will be making 4 (4) L-blocks from Fabric #3 and Fabric #4. You won’t need to sew full strips here Cut the remaining strip of #4 into your 3 1/2 inch pieces for the L-block. (Queens will need a full strip each of #3 and #4. The 5.5-inch subunits for the bottom of the L should only take about half a strip.

I am following along but not sewing. It is amazing how detailed a pattern has to be for me to understand it. Thanks IceLeopard for this mystery.
