Knot Sew 04-16-2008 01:35 PM

I have a ruler that will do it.........no problem but the template has to be at 150% percent for a 12 in sq.............Her picture looks like an 8 in sq...as it is on her cutting board. It took me a few minutes to figure it out but for some they might need a different template......I really like this one :D I am all set.........just get a little slow this time of day lol

dang you Ruth.. I was hoping no 1 would catch my mess up. OK OK you win the prize, you figured it out I did not make it the correct size. I thought I printed the correct size template, when I put it together I was miffed and figured my error.

Ruth you won't let me get away with anything!

I found a neat way of making multiple patterns. Just print one pattern the correct size then take a pile of plain paper, I usually have 6 or 8. Then I sew one end of the paper with thread in the machine to hold them all together. Take the thread out of the machine and then sew on the lines of the pattern. If you use a fairlly long stitch it is better. Then when you use the pattern with the material it is easier to pull off with the double stitching on the lines.

Worlds Without End as originally designed and published

3 sizes; two methods

The templates could be adapted for either rotary cutting for lots of blocks or for applique on one or more blocks

Patrice thanks for the links to download. It might not be a brain drain for anyone else but I wouldn't bet on it for me. I also have a hard time with paper pieceing but I'm not going to let it defeat me. I'll get the hang of it yet! First I want to catch up on these BOM "again". However, as usual I have to get some other projects out of the way. Is it me or do the rest of you never catch up either. What would I do if I had a husband and kids to look after too? As it is just me and Mr. Man, Dad. Of course I've siblings too some I see everyday. Thanks God for family.

unfortunately i'm going to have to skip this one as I am trying to play some serious catch up on some other projects I'm part way through. Hopefully by early May I will be caught up and a little more organized in my projects....

Cheers

Here is another link for that pattern, only it is called Crossed Canoes. It is an 8" block.

http://www.quilt.com/Blocks/CrossedCanoes/CrossedCanoesDirections.html this link is for the 12" version.

Thanks for the great block Dawn. It is very versatile and I had alot of fun playing with the colours in this one. I too need to play catch up but I thought I'd start here and work in the earlier ones when I have a chance. I haven't done any of the BOMs since christmas gasp  so I have got a wee bit of catching up to do
