I'm on a different computer due to my computers failure, so I have no idea how big this star will load. Anyway, my chocolate star for April.

All the stars are looking beautiful, I haven't even thought about mine yet - still trying to get the time to finish my April birdhouse.

Anyway congrats to everyone the stars are gorgeous with some really pretty fabrics!

All of you have wonderful stars! Sorry I am not in on the fun, but have too many other projects going.
Anxious to see next month.
Love it when you picture all of your completed stars.

Here are my stars all together. Sorry about the poor picture quality. I dropped my camera last week while at the Pistons game. It has not recovered so I took this pic with my web cam. My quilting skills are still developing, I have done two quilts so far. The first was strip piecing rail fence and the other was a kit that had large squares. This Amish star is my first real block piecing. I lost some of my points. I did pin the pieces to try to keep them in place but I think I need tons more practice. Quilting is so much fun I don't know why I did not start sooner.

Glad you finally got started on quilting. I have been quilting for years, and I still have trouble with loosing points on complex blocks like the Amish Star.
I'm sure there are some board members who could give us some good tips on matching two points at the same intersection.
IMO your blocks look great, keep up the good work.

This is excellent - so exciting to see all 4 of your blocks. This has helped me to sort mine out with the colours variations.

Just realized today I wasn't getting notifications on this thread and was thinking no one was making stars this month. Decided to look it up. Sure glad I did. What a beautiful bunch of stars so far. I am so far behind in this BOM, but after this week I will get going and get caught up. Nice job everyone on the stars you have made.

Floralfab 04-20-2011 01:08 PM

Everyone's stars are so beautiful. Need to get going and get mine done.

loved this block. I made it in an afternoon. I made one with bright reddish orange to pick up the flowers in the background but did not like it with my other blocks so made one with yellow/orange. May cannot get here fast enough. Here they are:

francesrose 04-21-2011 02:21 PM

Hey! I pricked my finger and did not know it. Does anyone have a good way to get blood out of fabric? I have a spot in the middle of the block. Need help.

Here is my April Star. Not enough contrast - should have used a darker middle fabric! :x

whitepine 04-21-2011 02:58 PM

I wasn't getting notifications either so I clicked to "unwatch" then again "watch." It seemed to work, I'm getting them now.

Peroxide -- dab and blot, then Shout or other pre-wash then wash.

It's interesting how different the background print looks with the two different fabrics for the stars. I think both are pretty.

If you ever get a notice and just delete it without going to the site, you will not get another notice until you go to the site again. Does that make sense?

whitepine 04-21-2011 07:30 PM

Yep, that makes sense and thanks for clearing up the mystery.
