I am still having trouble printing this pattern. No matter what I do, the pattern is much too big. I did print the first one and it is the full block but that seems a little small. The latest one would make about a 20" block. Help please. Thank you

Fancifrock, when you open the PDF, check the size, change it to 100%, it should print out ok. I just checked it and it was at 87.8%, changed it to 100% and it printed fine.

fancifrock 07-13-2011 06:21 AM

I've tried that several times . When I open the file, it is at 57% and I change it to 100 and no matter what I change it to, the image I receive is very large. 4 of them would need at least a 24 inch square. Could you just give me an idea what the size of the leaves are and the size of the largest circle and I am sure I can go from there

Thanks Peg

Thank you, Bonni...I love the purple, also. It seems to be the perfect color for this block. I'm so glad Peg is doing this for us. I always wanted to learn to do applique' and I find that I'm loving it...I think it is my favorite...so thank you so much, Peg.

busygranny 07-14-2011 08:22 AM

are all the squares the same size, except for the center one? Hers looks pretty close to the 1/4" seam allowence. Bonnie, I do have mine started, will try to post pic. tomorrow.

gal288 07-14-2011 03:02 PM

Thanks Bonnie for helping fancifrock with the email,
love the block surfergirl, that purple fabric is so much fun.

Busy granny, yes all the squares will finish at 12". center square is 17". The inner swag border will be 4X6", but don't cut yet, as you may need to fudge the swag when piecing, so we have oversized it to give extra room.

I didn't get a message stating that the new block for July was online. I used to get everything that was posted but now I don't get anything. I can't figure out what happened. I finally remembered it today so came online to get it. Thanks for all the beautiful blocks.

Hi Capucine. I'm recovering yet, had a slight set back, but bound and determined to keep on stitching. :) Thanks for asking.

capucine 07-14-2011 05:54 PM

Check your private messages. I can send you what I have if you want.

jljack 07-18-2011 02:40 PM

Thanks, Bonni. I got it to print from what you sent me.

I am soooooo far behind!! I gotta get all this other stuff done first before I go on with this. Just not enought hours in the day, and too many commitments!! Ugghhhh...I gotta learn the word "NO"!!! :-)

That that it worked out for you. Don't expect ME to give you the definition of the word NO! I think that page is missing in my dictionary. When I try to google it, it comes up with "operator error". :)

doozey 07-20-2011 09:54 AM

Yep that is a keeper !!! It printed at 14" block but I can modify. Yes I printed at 100% I may try reducing or just eyeballing.

mshollysd 07-21-2011 09:36 AM

I haven't done this block but I did try my hand at the little border that we were given. Holy Cow, who knew you could blanket stitch around a circle the size of the diameter of a pencil. Totally cool looking though and I think I am going to keep working on them. Couldn't find the pattern pieces small enough for it, so just improvised. LOL

BonniFeltz 08-05-2011 09:31 AM

Oh My! It's about time for another block and i still haven't gotten to July. I'd better get off the computer and start to pick up a needle again. LOL.

gal288 08-07-2011 02:15 PM

Just in time. I finished July's block this weekend. I got a late start so I'm working backwards. I did June's along with July. I'll do August and May this month and try to catch up to you guys. Great block for August Peg and thanks for doing this.

gigi4419 08-11-2011 05:47 AM

Finished my July block. Couldn't get good pictures on it though. This one I had to lighten one up a bit so that you could see the pattern on the purple on black flowers.
