I haven't seen that book but I just finished a quilt top called Tennessee. It is good to use up scraps and small pieces as you use Three square blocks and 6 colored triangles and 6 white triangles. I tis all colors and no two blocks are alike. I found it on the internet somewhere. I think I will give it to my daughter who moved to KY.

FYI: For those who want states blocks, there are free blocks of the states on-line atBellaonline. They are pieced blocks, though, not stars.

It's too bad they are not all the same size block.

I would love to do the next BOM. I am voting for houses, outhouses, light houses. I love the idea of a town square. I think that is a neat way to put them together.

What about the international quilters?? IMHO I don't think most would like to do states blocks. Just a thought... ciao

I'm looking forward to starting the bom for 2011. This will be a first for me. Can't wait until the decision is made for what were going to do.

I would love to join but I'm not an experienced quilter. My daughter can out quilt me.

Don't worry about your quilting skills when joining. No one will have to see your block if you don't want them to. This isn't a swap so if you goof up you can turn it into a potholder, a birdcage liner ....

I am so excited for this. This will be my first BOM. I was just thinking the other day how I would like to do a house quilt. I think the different types of houses or the town square idea are both great so the house quilt gets my vote.

Hi no need to be a quilter... This BOM is not for swapping... You can learn as you go along.. I am useless at piecing but with this year's BOM I had to struggle along and try the technique. It has been a fun year of BOM.
Karen, once you join you will be so glad you did. The best part is that you have a whole month to do a block...It is your choice of colours and noone elses.... No quilting police coming round the corner to check your blocks... You only get to quilt them at the end of the year in any case... So plenty of time to start practising. Hope you will join the BOM 2011.
I have put in my opinion on houses, lighthouses, buildings etc...
