Country Quilter 04-15-2007 01:39 AM

I chose this block as alot of us said we wanted to spread our wings and try new things......applique is new to me, I've always wanted to try it and have for the first time this week finally. Not on this project, but on a wallhanging I am working on.

I chose what looked to me to be a simple (very beginner) block for those of us with little or no experience..... for those with alot of applique experience, I hope it doesn't disappoint you! LOL

I hope you enjoy it! I can't wait to get started on it!

Nice choice for a first crack at applique. I like the idea that it is simple for those of us who are just trying out the technique. I liked the wall hanging that is suggested for the block.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I love it, too. My printer is on the fritz, so I am going to draw my own as similar as I can to the original. I am looking forward to he freezer paper method, I think. Mimisharon fell and broke her wrist. She cannot type, but she can read. Everyone send her well wishes. She is such a sweetheart.

I love it and also just in time, I was looking for a tulip to add to placemats I am making for my moms BD in May, Perfect. Thanks

Finally!!!!! Applique rules! I have already tried this block--incorporated into a baby quilt I made in Jan. Easy, because you can use the fusible stuff and not worry about the raw edges fraying. I used a machine blanket stitch to keep it in place, just to make sure the fuible stuff doesn't come unstitched!

I really like it. This will be my first applique block, I have appliqued other things onto different projects. I cannot wait to get started. HA...I still need to post pics of my April 1st block...jeez..procrastination...lol. I will eventually get it on here.

Just posting to keep it on page 1. If anybody is checking the board for the first time, or for the first time in a while, they may have missed the BsOM.

If you start with the very first message (top of page 1) you'll find the links to instructions.

Been doing the little tiny stitches of needleturning. Got the leaves on, now working on the flower. I had a devil of a time finding a background color in my stash. I seem to need to buy more fabric.
