Here's Aunt, my least favorite due to the fabric, but for now I'm leaving her as is:
I may bleach the whole block to see what happens.... |
Wow..you really going fast forward on all of these blocks. LOVE THEM. OH no bleach...I love it the way it is.

Thanks y'all! This one just stands out so much to me when put next to the others. Here's a screen shot of how I'm thinking of arranging the squares I've finished / working on:
Maybe once I get another purple one in there, she'll settle down a little LOL. |
Wow - looks great morganfam!

Simply make a few more blocks using a similar value/intensity and then you won't think the purple one stands out at all. I think the black star is standing out. The purple block and the turquoise block seem the same to me for standing out...
|
Thanks givio, that's really helpful. Now that you say it, the dark brown star does stand out more than the purple to me. I guess I didn't give it a second thought since I love that block so much, and the fabric is special to me. The purple not so much. I can swap the brown one with another brown one further down once I get more squares. I had already planned to use chocolate brown on the rest of the squares instead of that deep dark brown. Hopefully the chocolate brown will fit better. If not, then I'll going to a golden tan I guess, or leaving it out altogether. Thanks so much for your insight. I feel like I struggle more with whatever this is - color harmony? (and print scale meshing), than anything else.
Thank you JeanieG! |
oops meant milk chocolate color instead of the dark brown.
