I'm really having a hard time tonight loading pictures. When I add a message the pictures finally show up. This is really strange.

GrannyQ your blocks are awesome!! I love the purples. I've learned so much about contrast just watching your blocks-thank you!

janRN, Thank you so much. Everyone's blocks have really been great. Lots of colors. They all look so different even though they are the same blocks. I have really enjoyed doing all of these blocks. It has really helped with this being a group effort. Thanks everyone.

the casual quilter 04-27-2011 08:14 AM

These are going to make a spectacular quilt. The blocks are wonderful.

Evie 04-27-2011 08:51 AM

grannyQ, as I've said throughout our journey, your blocks are beautiful! Can't wait to see the finished product.

RW those blocks look great! You have really balanced your colors. Here are my 51 thru 75. I can see I need to add some red.

They're on my design wall w/the sashing - Can't get them altogether in one shot without shooting from the side as my wall is in back of Lizzie. Plus I'm using the book layout so it's all or nothing to get 51-75 together right now. So here's a side view of the altogether so far. A top half shot, and a bottom half shot over the side of my Lizzie setup.

janRN 04-27-2011 06:01 PM

Oh wow Auntjo-those look fantastic. I like your sashing-it looks brown on my computer. It really highlights your blocks. Great job.

mirabelle 04-27-2011 10:42 PM

Wow what a great assortment, will take a photo of mine hopefully tomorrow when I get home from my embroidery club meeting.

rwquilts 04-28-2011 05:01 AM

Jan and AuntJo, your blocks are beautiful! I have to say, without our little "sew along" here, I think I would have abandoned this project quite some time ago...so thanks ladies for helping me "stick it out"!

Abigail's Mimi 04-28-2011 08:35 AM

Aunt Jo : I love your blocks. Your sashing looks either brown or red. What color is your little squares. and setting triangles going to be? I have used a brick red for the sashing and now I don't know what colors to use for triangles and little squares. I have finished 101 blocks but I don't have a camera to post pictures. When my DD returns from college I will ask her to help me post some pictures.

Here goes.. I really like my blocks seperately..I'm not crazy about these last 25 grouped. I need to add more yellow to my blocks. Anne

janRN 04-28-2011 05:32 PM

I like your blocks, Anne. Isn't it neat to see everyone's grouping? I love them all. I'm so proud of us!!!!

rwquilts 04-29-2011 06:09 AM

Your blocks are great Anne! Isn't it interesting how, when you see them all on the board, you look and say it needs more of this or that? I still have no clue what to sash my blocks with...am thinking to maybe double sash them...surround with white and then another color...maybe!

I love them all Mirabelle--really nice colors. Have you decided on your sashing color yet? Isn't this exciting? We're getting so close!

Yes JanRN I have decided on my sashing, I did post pics a while back. It is a chocolate brown and a cream with small darker swirls. Will try and get some sewn on in the next few weeks. As soon as I finish quilting a monster quilt top for a friend (will post pics when I am finished)
Now back to quilting :x

Oh, boy, everyone's blocks look so great! I am having trouble finding the right sashing. I've auditioned numerous different fabrics but none have made the cut. I'll keep trying, although it looks as if "white" might be the winner. I guess that's what happens with a very limited color palette. In the meantime, here's my blocks in the third segment. Not happy with some of them, but will let it go for now. :-D

Oh Evie--how wonderful! The red and black is so rich. I love it.

Anne, your blocks are wonderful. Remember you have 50 other blocks to blend in, so it probably isn't as bad as you think!

RW--as always I love your blocks.

Gramma: the purple blocks are so wonderful!

Everyone else whose name I can't remember: I love all the blocks posted and I can't wait for summer so I can catch up!

Oh so nice to see all your displays of great work!!!! Isn't it interesting, how the blocks look so much more put together when you get them together. And even better, for those that have added in the sashing/cornerstones at this point. I'm envious ... and enjoying catching up with everyone! So here's my pics for you ... #51-75, as well as the whole bunch on my design wall, #1-75 plus some hopscotch extras, totalling 84 now. I sure wish the weather would have cooperated today, so I could have gone outside for better pics for you to see. And because the sides of the pictures are getting cut off, I've turned them on their sides for a better look ... thus why some of the blocks appear to be upside down or sideways (eg. maple leaf, trees, etc.)Thanks for looking!

Quilting Nonnie 01-01-2012 05:42 PM

Beautiful! I still haven't done my 75 blocks picture. When I took the 50 picture, I took a large piece of material and tacked it up to the side of the garage and then put my blocks on it. I always take my pictures there because it is a large area. It's in the shade all the time. I also try to wait for an overcast day to take pix, because the lighting is even and the colors are much more true to the original.

I have been keeping a "virtual" quilt on my computer. I have been using MS Publisher and putting all my blocks there. It does a nice job and get to enjoy how my quilt is going to look!

oksewglad 01-01-2012 06:02 PM

QE these look spectacular, and doesn't it inspire you to get the rest done--go sew, go sew, go sew!!!
QN what a great idea with the virtual quilt in Publisher! Thanks

janRN 01-01-2012 06:55 PM

Great job, QE!! I really like your color choices. You're going to have a gorgeous quilt!

I finally got my first 75 uploaded. Like I said, I've also been doing my blocks as a "virtual quilt." It took me a bit of fussing to get the file in a format that would get uploaded. Hope this shows up correctly. Fingers crossed!

Quilting Nonnie 01-01-2012 08:52 PM

Well, I guess a link is better than nothing!

QuiltE 01-01-2012 09:02 PM

Good for you! Your virtual quilt, does it let you move the blocks around to help you determine placement? Would be a lot easier than the old fashioned IRL way!

I'm lucky and have one huge design wall, so can have them all up and in full view. Then have some smaller portable design boards that I made with the off cuts from my big wall. So lots of space. Wish I could get better pictures inside and that's why I'd hoped to take them outside to the snow today, but with the rain and meltdown, there's no way that was even possible.

Here's hoping you'll take yours out for some air and get some pics for us to see! Pretty garage wall!! Hey ... while I was typing this, I see you posted your virtual quilt. Neat!!! :) And thanks for showing them to us.

OKSGlad and JanRN ... Thanks Ladies! I am enjoying getting it finished up, though I know that there's this Pony Club quilt that's going to mess with my brain! I'm wanting to start with everyone, and try to stay with the group. However, I do want to get the FWS blocks done, so I am not trying to think of both. Sashing/cornerstones etc. will be easy to do as I work on POny Club!

Good Night Y'all! :)

Quilting Nonnie 01-01-2012 09:09 PM

That's nice of the virtual quilt, I can move the pieces around. I haven't done that, I've just put them in the order I made them. All in all, it's much better to get the blocks up than look at them in such a small size.

I don't have a wall space big enough for a design wall. I also have the same difficulty with places to display my quilts! I told my husband that I was saving for a 72"x72" portable, free-standing design wall. It's from Cherylannsdesignwall.com. They have 4 different sizes. You can take it completely apart and put it in a carrying case. The wall is flannel, with fiberglass poles & molded fitting. Sort of like making the frame with pvc pipes and stretching the flannel taut across it.

I'm waiting till I have the money. Soon I hope!

QuiltE 01-01-2012 09:22 PM

That sounds like it'd be a great thing ... do you have the space to set it up, if you do get it? There's been pics of similar ones at times here on the Board when folks have shown their WIP.

I'm lucky that I have the wall space for a permanent one. With no one else here in my home competing for space, it makes it pretty nice! Mine is 10ftx 7-1/2ft, covered with black polar fleece. Spoiled, aren't I?

Quilting Nonnie 01-01-2012 10:46 PM

Wow! That sounds really nice! I do have floor room to set up the portable one. The living room in our house is the least used room as we have a family room. There's plenty of floor space, just no wall space. The lighting in there is good during the morning.

QuiltE 01-02-2012 04:59 AM

Convert it to your sewing room!!!!! :)

I have a lovely living room ... I really like it, though it's seldom used, as the family room is so much more comfy when by myself. And when I have company, unless it's a huge group, the living room just seems too huyge. I dream of it becoming the kitchen every time I ge annoyed at my teeny-tiny one. Not. Going. To. Happen!! But a girl's gotta have dreams, right? :)

Quilting Nonnie 01-02-2012 09:38 AM

I'm lucky enough to have a bedroom as my sewing room! We live in a 3 bedroom house and it's just my DH and I now that the kids are on their own.
