No power here this morning...thankful for the generator. More rain expected, record flooding north of us so the river by us will be coming up. "They" are saying crest will be higher than in 2008.

Carrie....we had rain last night but still have power this morning.
Mirabelle...ouch....sounds like your shoulder is really painful. I hope it doesn't require surgery. I'm hearing more and more about women if our age having rotor cuff surgery. The latest one is minding her Dr/PT well and is recovering nicely but didn't sew for a few weeks.

OKSGlad ... Time to tell Ileane that she is NOT welcome in Guernsey and she can go packing in the opposite direction!! :D So, are you going to go to the MD? or go obliviously on your trip? Maybe more important you get some good muscle relaxers and/or anti-inflammatories to get you thru the trip? How's MrOKSGlad's back doing? I am just so amazed by the creativity of you guys and the beautiful sewing and I could go on & on but why waste time talking...Here's my MB that Mirabelle did indeed make for me..."ROSES" yes, I said "ROSES" I got the "ROSES" from Mirabelle in a block called "Precious Pieces" and this one is also hand appliqued using YLI silk thread...and it is beautiful and it will go so well with the other gorgeous blocks....I have to leave now so I can go look at it some more...

Remember?? ... how I got tired of doing practice things, and needed something for "real"? Honestly, I do better when it's for real ... pay more attention, come up with a plan, and try to follow it. When it's only practice, I scribble too much. The printed fabric was some I bought a couple of years ago for placemats as it matched my dining room so well. Never got to it, so instead, one big placemat about 38" square that can be a table topper or can take it to the corner for dinner for two on one mat! :)

I used the print design somewhat as my guide ... followed the vine in the faux-sashing for a "s" type diagonal grid line. Then did feathers, over the print, using the print to help centre and spread out from. Outside setting triangle border area got a stipple.

I've got a long way to go ... though I'm happy for my first "real" attempt with my new machine.

Thanks Honchey ... about both. I wish I had more of those flowers ... they do show pretty nice while blooming and if I keep them dead headed, I can extend their show. I know I have a long way to go to getting the FMQ right! I'd be doing fine with this, and then all of a sudden I'd wobble all over or miss where I was supposed to be.
