These 2 blocks are from a group of 111 from The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt book by Laurie Arron Hird. We are doing this quilt as a group and are currently doing block 89 & 90. There is a photo page every week for the blocks we are working on with pictures them. Anne

First of all thank you so much for doing these instructions, they are incredible!! Now I'm having a brain f--t, what does (ru) mean? We went from 103 degrees for a high to 65 degrees for the high. I very confused. Thank you much.

If a square measures 1-15/16" I will round up (ru) to the next increment which would be 2 inches. Not all rulers have the 16th of an inch increment marked. I don't do this on all pieces that have the 16th measurement. I will do it on the triangles or squares that will become HST"s..(half square triangles) we tend to lose some of the measurement after the piece has been sewn, opened and then pressed. I always cut a bit bigger than required..it's easier to trim than to stretch. Unless, of course, if we find that perfect scant 1/4" seam. :-D Anne

Thank you for getting back to me. I'm thinking some kind of rectangle shape, but these aren't rectangles (like I said, brain not working so good). I find that squaring each section as you make the square really helps with the overall accuracy so making it a little bit bigger makes sense. Thanks again. P.S. I'm on block 27 Wowser!!
