Oh such pretty blocks that you, Pioneer Ladies have completed!
I always like to see how everyone has put their own spin on the patterns .... fabrics/colours make such a difference to the same blocks.

My New Year's Eve was spent completing these blocks and a couple more ... Here you are ....
#67 ... Pine Tree
and
#68 ... Postage Stamp .... you'll see that there are three. Each stamp is a different fabric, representing all the different fabrics I have been using. So that means 3x36=108. And there's some that didn't make it into the block, so looks like there'll be a fourth. I've done this in some of my scrappy quilts, putting in all the different fabrics in some way, as a reference of proof! This will give me extras, and then I'll eliminate the least favourites or the ones where the colours just don't fit or didn't work.

I had hoped to take my design board outside today and get some better pics in the natural lighting. A combo of rain and meltdown sure made that impossible!

Thanks for looking ... and a very Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone!

I love your postage stamp. What a great idea to use all your fabrics for the quilt in that block! Very, very pretty.

Thanks! fiddly little things they were to do. I managed a few fussy cuts ... not that anyone will ever look that close on such small blocks. The 4 postage stamps will likely go together on the bottom row.

I just noticed the pattern on your setting triangles. I love that leafy gold! I had thought I would go with something more tone on tone. But now I'm thinking that maybe gold setting triangles and gold sashing blocks would be great. My sashing is brown.

There's a beautiful metallic gold with a brown base that might be a good mix for you. More subtle than a white cornerstone and dark sashing. I'm even considering it for mine. It's the same as the gold that I am using right now, just the brown base.

Yes, I like the triangle fabric for the same reasons ..... might even use the same fabric for the cornerstones. The concern is whether the shading within the fabric might take away from the cornerstones, as some would turn out to be dark parts of the fabric and the others light. Wish I could have got the same leaf fabric for the backing. It's not only gold, but also has a subtle metallic in it.

Another beautiful "scroll" through the FWS blocks! Such a great show everyone.
Love the postage stamp blocks, QE--oh try 1/2" finished blocks! I know I'm a crazy lady. Bills paid--now get the last of my reports printed up for Ty. Gnight

I've counted my fabrics and now have the next 36 for the 4th block. Oh some day you'll get me doing those 1/2" pieces! I'm crazy enough to do it, too! :)

GGal, are you PP these, too. Triangles are so sharp. The bright pinks and yellow are so complemented by the "dull" squares. Nice.

No, I'm using Marti Michell's cutting guide that Laurie approved for this book. They make my work so much more accurate.
