FWS Block # 87 Star Gardener

1. Dark T # 19 Cut two strips 1-1/2" x 6-1/2" then cut every 1-1/2" to get eight 1-1/2" squares.

2. Light T # 1 Cut one 2-1/2" square.

note: step 3 and 4 are the same and because there are so many HST's from these two seps I am rounding up the fraction to an even 2"


3. Light T # 13 Cut two strips 2" x 12-1/2" then cut every 2" to get 12 squares**...mark a line diagonally.. set aside.

4. Dark T # 13 repeat step 3 to **.... take a light and dark square from steps 3 & 4 place them right sides facing...sew a scant 1/2" seam along both sides of the marked line then cut on the line. press the seam.. open the seam..press again with out stretching the seam.

Fws Block # 88 Star of Hope


Those of you that are using the Yahoo group PPing Patterns please be aware that this block is different that the FWS book version. I learned the hard way and I'm not changing my block!


1. Dark T # 34 Cut one 1-11/16" square.

2. Dark T # 101 Cut a 5-3/8" (ru) square.

3. Light # 38 Cut a strip 2-1/8 (ru) x 8-1/2" then cut every 2-1/8" (ru)* set aside

4. Dark T # 38 Repeat step 3 to * then mark a line diagonally. Place a dark and light T # 38 right sides facing..sew a scant 1/4" on both sides of the marked line then cut on the line. Press seam open.. press again being careful not to stretch the seam.
