Thanks for the praise. Yes those are Civil War prints. I'm a junkie for Civil War and 1930's prints. I've used all scraps so far with the exception of the last triangle. Didn't realize I had so many scraps until I started this project.

I don't know about anyone else but if I had not joined the cyber sew I'd still be looking at the book, thinking about making this quilt. It's almost the end of the first five week cycle and it you stay on time you will have completed 21 blocks and 5 triangles. I think that's pretty impressive.

mama...those are beautiful! I love your fabrics!

mama, I didn't expect to make the blocks for years. I just wanted to have the things I needed for a someday quilt.

This is a wonderful opportunity to support each other through a lifetime project! Thanks to ADMIN, moderators, and of course, our fearless leader Esqmommy & Klue for getting the ball rolling.

I agree it's a great way to support each other and how much fun has it been so far seeing all the different colorways. A big "THANKS" to everyone who helped get this organized and is keeping it running.

We are all blessed! This is a great group!
Here are my blocks - Definitely glad to have a week off to redo that darn triangle!

Really pretty bc. I had to re-do that tri. too! It does'nt have as many pieces as some of them but it's a toughy!

sandpat 02-11-2010 07:52 PM

Cool fabrics for your blocks! Thats an interesting take on how to do the tri...I hadn't thought of splitting it down the middle like that. I actually sewed the "y" seam for the bottom section and it turned out OK since its pretty big. I then appliqued the top 2 triangles on. This one looks easier than it was for me to actually make it...so I feel your pain!

I agree Patti, it looks easier than it is. I split it down the middle too and it worked good. I'm finding it's better to applique some of the more difficult ones.
