Tlaming, this may be the beginning of your Dear Jane journey, but you're clearly not a beginner. Great blocks! What paper piecing method do you use?

Believe it or not, I pieced those blocks! Yea for me:) I am going in order so the next one I will applique and the following I am definitely paper piecing! The group of ladies I am working with are doing 4 blocks a month. And starting next month we will add in a triangle too. I sure hope I can keep up! And still enjoy working on other projects!

i hope you feel better soon and can get back to it Pink Lady<3<3

Tlaming,

Did you piece by hand or machine? In any case, your blocks are lovely :-).

I machine pieced them. I am not proficient at hand stitching. Sadly, I cannot meet my own expectations ;)

tiambing,

It's your results that count, and that's so good that folks thought it was FPP (Foundation Paper Pieced) :-).

I have a love-hate relationship with paper piecing because although it is precise I hate pulling the paper out!! I have found that careful measurements gives great results. The other way to avoid that nasty part of paper piecing is to use the Cynthia England method -you can see the technique at this site: http://englanddesign.com/content/video-demos-0
Cynthia copies the pattern onto freezer paper with no seam allowance, presses the paper to the right side of the fabric and carefully cuts the seam allowance on the fabric only, then sews the seams - leaving the paper free and reusable if you make many of the same pieces. This method takes a bit of getting used to but works quite well!

Those blocks are far from the easiest tlambing!! You made them well - congratulations :)
SewnSo - wow two of them!!! I've been dragging my feet (one was in a boot for 8wks after I broke it!) but I hope to get back into the swing of sewing again which I haven't done except for repairs in well over three months :(

I do apologize for not getting on here more often - a leader I am certainly not this time around!! Please PM me if you need help with anything!!
Gus

Here are my A1-A4. Not perfect, but I'm feeling ok about them and they're the right size ;)

After 7 years in the making - here is a photo of my completed Dear Jane quilt. I am thrilled to have completed this long journey and I have learnt so much to achieve the many different ways to make the blocks.
