SulaBug, did you just turn your edges and blanket stitch or did you use any sort of bond facing? Your crazy heart is beautifu and I am just trying to think of the best way to attach it to my block.

I have finally finished my Crazy Heart block for February. This block was so much fun to make, I really enjoyed this pattern. Instead of machine stitching all of the little pieces i chose to do hand embroidery work, because I love to do it that way. I hope you like my block for this month. ENJOY!!

Alright, here is my February block...because I am using civil war fabrics, I didn't want it to look victorian so I tried to make it look more traditional? I also am making some small pieces each month to work in the finished quilt...I am showing them to you so you can keep me honest and make sure I do it EVERY month! The civil war fabrics are not colors I would usually use, so it is kind of hard for me to stay true...but I will....

Love that purple Patrice!

DiFergie, wow, I learned alot just by looking at your photos and how you plan to arrange your blocks.
Pretty purple Patrice. Once again, same block and everyone's take is unique. |
Wow! Difergie, your quilt is going to be wonderful. It does look so Americana. PatriceJ, I love your purple heart. Alas, I have my pattern printed off but have not had time to get it done yet but I have until end of the month...or the rest of the year actually. Still have January's to do, too but good things come to those who wait...is my opinion. Love seeing everyone's pictures and I get wonderful ideas.

I do not have a lot of fancy stitches on any of my machines , so I make a log cabin style heart block, hope that is ok. :)
Judy in Phx, AZ Ps the red really is not that dark as it shows in photo |

You have all done some great blocks. When (and if) I get done with my valentine wallhanging, I may reward myself be starting this BOM :)
|
Linda I love your pink heart! I have some of the same fabrics as you do. I guess great minds think alike? LOL! :)
|
SulaBug that is very pretty and your hand embroidery is very nice!
|
Beautiful Patrice! Since it is propped up against the sewing machine I was thinking it would make a nice sewing machine cover front.

that machine won't ever be covered. it's a decoration unless i decide to get it restored to working condition. even then, it will stay out for display. i'm spiffing it up a little at a time. :) |

Here is what I finally decided to do for my heart block. I added some log cabin strips to border my PP'd heart. I had to paper piece the heart in 4 different sections to avoid any raw edges, but it was fun to do.

I meant it would make A nice sewing machine cover for A sewing machine, not necessarily that mug rug or that sewing machine, or even one of your sewing machines... , I think I meant the pattern would be nice for anyone to use to make a sewing machine cover!
btw I love your sewing machine and your MR!

and you can see where 2013 Block of the months are. There is no January heart. Each month will be a different technique for us to learn. I am hoping that I can catch up with them all by April. |

Here is my Feb block. Going with the black/white theme I started with Jan block. I know I didn't do this according to the directions as I enlarged the pattern several times, cut out the peices, then used each peice as a pattern on different fabric, then sewed the fabric peices together and trimmed the edges a bit!

Pyffer3 your heart block is beautiful! :)
|
Great job, I'm doing black and white with accent of yellow and peridot green. I figured I'd do a theme this year. And I love the black and white.
|
I began with black and white too and just forgot about it when I did the Feb. block but after seeing you heart I have to rethink this! I want and black and white quilt with a bit of color?
Hugs, Cajun |
I just love everyone's block this has been an awesome block with all the different colors Great Job! everyone
