^^^Couple things, Rhonda:
If you were doing a scrappy, would it be ok to take a 2.5" HST and rotary cut corner to corner? Because you'd still have 2.5" sides, right? If you had 4 HST then you would have 8 QST to start a Boston Block. Do you end up "off" somehow by doing it that way? And, I've got a whole ton of teeny triangles now, cut from the scraps from my daughter's tube quilt, so YAY! I was actually "cleaning" yesterday! |

Found this yesterday. Thanks Rhonda & this is great to do your methods for a whole quilt of different sizes. I'll be watching for updates.
|
I'm in. I had sent for the templates quite awhile ago and have been afraid to work on them. I will give this a definite try. Thank you for doing this. It should be fun!!!!!

Rhonda,
I would like to try a block in both the 6 1/2" and the 12 1/2" blocks and then decide which size blocks I will be doing. Please could I get the templates for both sizes. I will PM you my information. Thanks, |

Well, now I've found the "create a sense of order" blocks for my scrappy quilt. They all ended up too small, so the solid 1/2 of the Boston is bigger than the QST side. Heh. They still look cool, but they are not perfection. I just keep cutting away and practicing though. I'm learning a lot with little risk, since it's scraps. |

Hi Rhonda, I am going to do this. I sent you a pm. I am doing the farmers wife too. this will be fun and I just love your block, they are so beautiful. Thank you so much for doing this, and I still am going to do the book markers. I am just about done with the small projects I have to get done. I will see if I can do them all on Monday. This is going to be so much fun. I cant wait to start this. thank you so very much again, and God bless. Penny

Hi Rhonda,
I join in but I don't know if I can keep up. My hands are not what they used to be but I do need to get back to quilting again. I will try using my ruler but I may need to get the templates later. Thanks for the class. |

I circumvented the ease of just making a straight edge on the bottom of the QST part, then lining up and cutting out of the center. I've almost used up all the trial and error triangles though! :D |

Y'all don't be afraid of small pieces - Think of it this way: smaller pieces just means shorter seams, and quicker done!!

I had a friend who took my class in my home on making a coin purse and she could not quit marveling that she had actually made this little quilt block. She went home and made a bunch more coin purses and gave them as gifts to her family. |
I would love to do these. They a beautiful. I have sent a PM to you for the templates. Thanks so much for doing this. Gail

This is such an awesome idea. I don't have much"good" experience in sewing any thing that has points and that will have to match up exactly. I'm still learning. It's also a great idea for someone who doesn't have alot of fabric to work with as well as learning so many blocks that I like but are very intimidated by them. Thank you for this great opportunity.

Just received my 2 1/2 square. Can't wait to get started. This is so generous of you. Thank you many times over. Anne

Thank you all! I hope you have a good experience with these quilt blocks. I think they are easy to make. If you remember to take time to be accurate when you cut out the blocks and when you sew the blocks together remember to make sure you have a 1/4" seam allowance where the points are you will get a good result.
the credit for the idea of the Sampler goes to KClausing. She asked me to consider doing a Jane type quilt. So you can send your thanks her way!! |
I'm not sure if this is where I am to post this. Oh well. Anyways, I received the templates yesterday and created the Boston Block. I think it turned out great. As soon as I learn how to post a picture I will let you see how it turned out. I want to thank you so much for all your tutorials and templates. They make me feel like I CAN accomplish something so intricate. A great big HUG from me to you!

And a Hug right back! Good for you! I hope you enjoy making the quilt blocks! Will look forward to your pictures! |
Hi Rhonda
I received the templates yesterday! I'm anxious to try some of your blocks. Thank again. :) |
See Rhonda:
If I'd of just listened to you my blocks would of been much better. You said just two posts up, quote: "remember to make sure you have a 1/4" seam allowance where the points are you will get a good result." I hope to try another block in the next couple of days. Life is getting in the way right now. |

that really was a good idea and I don't know if it's my sewing machine (a FW) or the magnet, but it doesn't have a lot of "stick" power to it. I may just put a stronger magnet on top to help hold it in place. Don't know if it will work, but gonna give it a try.
Oh yeah, I've never redone a block. Either it's good the first time or it stays the way it is, lol! I don't have the patience to take one apart and redo it. It's gonna have to be ok the way it is. I'm happy with it. |
Dear Rhonda
can you tell me how i can make the blocks to follow bigger its hard for me to see them and i wanted to start on the sampler quilt , Sorry to bother you HUGS Dora |
