Whoo hoo, Sheila. Good to have another one on board. I went snooping last night on line and found some cute relatively inexpensive stuff here.

http://www.quiltersroundup.com/

They sell fat quarters for $1.72 so can can get a variety for not too much. Shipping to Canada was reasonable I thought.

I also found a good selection at fabric.com. Still trying to decide if I should buy this

SheilaH ... now that's a great idea. Although, of course, I would think you should use our Canuck colours! :) We probably have all the same colours, just a different order ... Red, Blue, White, Yellow, Green .... I think pink is next, and forget what the rest are!

Honchey ... watch your inbox! Are you all ready to go in four more sleeps?

Thanks JanieW I love horses and ponies I've been around them since I was 2 and my youngest daughter show jumps and trains children to jump and ride. This is going to be a lot of fun, I ordered my book this morning can't wait to get it!

Formal we are not. You won't believe this...I cannot find my book. I don't know where it disappeared to...so I can't reference it in my notes (what notes) I have no notes. I'm winging it. I will PM a few of you the draft I made. I have until tomorrow 'cause PatriceJ has to have it so she can put a sticky on it. Later, Anne

I'm a-ready and a-waiting and a-willing to help y'all, wherever, whenever, I possibly can.
Being that I wasn't around when you did FWS I can't help you one little bit on that!!! :) Though I do agree, a good idea to change it up from the previous round to try to keep it unique and not a replay of what's already been!

This is getting SO exciting!
Countdown to the OK Corral!

Of course you should buy that .... and use it for the backing!!!!! :)
Did you see the His 'N Her quilts that MamaBear61 made for her RV? Her DH picked a similar fabric for the backing ....... so you go girl!!!
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...v-t162025.html

DH will surely approve (of course, he'll want the equal cowgirl print!) Are you going to do one large quilt? or two laps? then problem solved!!!!!

As though I need more fabric temptation from you!! :)

Talk about tempting me!!

woohoo!!! you're getting right into action! WTG!

Sheila_H 11-28-2011 03:17 PM

LOL I guess the Aussie figure that if you finished worse than 5th you don't deserve anything. You would think that the horse world has pretty standardized rules for the various events that they would also have a standardized ribbons too, someone just had to be different lol

JanieW 12-01-2011 06:18 PM

My book came today. I looked at the first block. I am toast. Really. Toast. Ack!

Edited to add: It is a gorgeous book.

QuiltE 12-01-2011 06:22 PM

Yippee doodles ... you're committed!!!
And BTW ... toast is brown, and the same colour as the dirt them there cowboys eat ... so you'll do just fine!
Don't fret m'dear! We're all in this boat together ..... or perhaps I should say on this chuckwagon together? :)

Janie, you're not the only one with reservations. I commented earlier on how discouraged I already am about getting into this project. QuiltE and others have promised to help, but we'll see . . . .

Of course!! Many hands make light work, so I'm sure if we band together in true cowboy style, we'll all reap our rewards!!

Hey there all you Cowgirls .... and perhaps Cowboys, too!!!
Trot on over to Honchey's "official" launch thread for the Pony Club ........

Evie,

reservations is putting it mildly. Good thing I'm stubborn.

QuiltE,

Committed? Maybe, but more likely to be committed. Wonder if they'll let me take my sewing machine to the assylum?? Ha Ha. See you over in the official thread.

Nope ... they won't let you take it with you to the nut-house as they'll be worried you might use it as a weapon.
Speaking of nuts ...... almonds, pecans, brazils, macadamias ... mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!

BTW ... I'm with you in the stubborn department! And remember, this is how we get better at what we do, by "just doing it".

And for all the 4-H'ers, we know the importance of .......... Learn To Do By Doing!!!!

Honchey 12-02-2011 09:49 PM

I haven't paid much attention to the blocks as I've only glanced thru the book and to be honest with you I don't believe that there will really be a tough block to do after doing the FWS blocks. Remember that we all support each other no matter how trivial the problem may be ...Every new quilt we do and especially one where every block is different is extremely challenging to say the least. We are here for each other..
