So sorry having trouble posting to the thread this morning. Couldn't get it all posted together like I usually can do. Next set of instructions will be posted on this thread, the morning of March 19[SUP]th[/SUP].And for those of you who asked about doing your quilt scrappy, here is what I have done. This will be a lap quilt, and I have made 16 blocks. I probably will make another 8 blocks so it will be longer, but need to find some more “boyish” fabric scraps.

Oh Judy I love your scrappy fabrics.. the footballs, eagles and tropical fish. Time for me to get busy. I was waiting for this second clue before cutting any of the fabric I chose. :)

Sorry, Dotty, but I prefer to keep it all in one place. If you go up to the very top, where it says welcome, my profile, etc, click on settings and you will be able to file the thread there, then all you have to do is click on that and it will take you to this thread. Or you can bookmark it on your computer and go directly from there. Or mayber "notifications" could work for you.

Judy, As much as I enjoy chatter, could you possibly post the March 19th instructions, out of the thread. It takes forever to find. TY! Dotty

I agree. I came in mid morning yesterday and had to search for the day's instruction. Could there be a thread for each clue.

Sheri, that was specifically for Yosamitesa, as Sunlite stated. She had laid out her fabrics with the dark in the end position, and I suggested she move it into the interior of her strip.

So I'm confused by the suggested change for this fabric choice order...I thought it didn't matter what order we used? I'll go re-read the posts....I don't want to start wrong....

I know. I'm sorry for the question too. I just really thought I read order doesn't matter. You can see I'm having my own fabric issues.... I've decided I'm an insecure sew-er.

Thinking: goodness, Dot and Gardener, there are reasons why it is called a mystery and not spoon-fed

Why should I move it? Fabrics A, C, and E are all the same "pattern" and if I move "E" to another position it will throw them next to each other. Besides, I thought you said that order did not matter. Also, the last time I checked..."mystery" quilts were supposed to be just that. A mystery for the quilt maker to decide how and where they want their fabrics, not someone telling them to do this and do that. I was REALLY excited about doing this mystery quilt. I spent a lot of time searching for the "right" fabrics for me. Now I need to think LONG and hard if I even want to do this mystery quilt.

Also, I've NEVER in my life seen so many people jump on others as in this thread. "I wouldn't use that fabric, pick a new one" and when people ask a question they are told that comment wasn't about them. Seriously?!?!? Can people not ask questions? When I first asked for clarification on the initial cuts, there were some partially snide comments, but I let them go. After being as excited as I was and how I feel now...I need to do some serious thinking if I even want to cut into these fabrics or use them for another project down the road.

Some of the ladies need to remember that some of us haven't been doing this for long and that we enjoy learning. Half the fun of quilting is when you are doing seeing what you like, what you are not that fond of and what you will change to make it more "yours" in the future. Quilts are not cookie cutters, no two will ever be alike. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, but I must say I am very disappointed.

LOL yes, it is a mystery, isn't it?

Dot and Gardener I understand where you are coming from. It took me a while to find the instructions also. Posting a day early threw a lot of people off. Good luck and quilty hugs ladies!!!!
