PF beautiful blocks, really capture the spirit of the book. Love that you posted both sizes. Great job on both.

Bev: THERE ARE NO Y SEAMS!!!!! LOL, or I wouldn't have signed up--you know my aversion to them. I think the block I did was a little easier that some of PC. I just have to get used to cutting larger pieces of fabric--I keep having to re-cut especially when it's an odd shape like a big triangle without one point. I cut too small.

Jan, when there are odd shapes I print one extra foundation and use that as templates. That way (and thinking which way to cut) you at least don't cut too small. I cut the pieces with 1/2" seam.

LOL Jan I do know how ya hate Y seams. I wish I had time ta do this right now. It would go great in my Brady house & would be a reminder o' my DFIL 'cause his DM was a Rosie. I never met her, she died whild DH & I were first datin'. When I do it I'll try ta git '30's prints.

PF--I like your fabrics. Great job on both blocks. I too like how you showed them next to each other. Do you plan to make both sizes for all of the blocks?

Bev--I thought this block went together very quickly/easily compared to some of the PC blocks...of course when we get to some with more (and smaller) pieces it might take longer. I like that she gives the measurements for cutting fabrics...I still recheck a few of them to be sure, but it takes one step out that I am doing w/my PC blocks.

Thanks for the nice comments on my block/fabrics. I too really like the batiks, just think I need to get some fabrics that read more solid to go with my multi-colored prints. I am so excited for the shop hop in a little over a week. I am sure with stopping at 9 shops I *should* be able to find something that will work...only down side is I will be a week behind. Maybe I will get a couple done at the retreat that weekend if I get the right fabric on the way there (we are going to 5 shops before the retreat and the other 4 on our way home).

Can't wait to see more finished blocks!!

carrie

janRN, love the fabrics you selected for your 2 blocks. Both will make lovely quilts.

carriem - yes, I'm going to do both sizes for all the blocks.

I'm ready to start on the next block.
