Happy New Year! Pulled my Accuquilt out and the bag of left over fabrics used from my Stichers Garden Quilt - before I knew it I had over 400 - 4 1/2 inch squares! Going Large!

Shadowirish, you DO NOT need to have 54 different fabrics. Use as many different as you have, it will be perfect. Don't cut up your FQs, that would be wasteful. Solids and blenders would work fine.

Gretchen - LOL - those Accuquilt sure make fast work don't they? I don't have one, but they seem just dandy!

I had 101 5" squares laying around. Trimmed them to 4 1/2 and starting sewing them together. Only had to cut 7 more from my scraps. I have to admit that I planned the blocks out before I sewed them together. Just the way I am. I really wanted to throw them in a bag and pull out whatever and sew them together. Just could make myself to do it. I really got into it and finished sewing 12 - 9 patch blocks and cut the rest of the oblong pieces. This is my first mystery and I just loved working on it. Looking forward to the next clue.

Barbie, that is how a lot of people feel - "just couldn't do it." Don't feel bad because you are not alone. My first scrappy, I agonized on placement. But not any more.

I'm jealous for the accuquilt cutter. Thought about buying one but the dies are soooo expensive. Okay some asked me to post my scrappies, these are for 2011 and 2012. 1 is totally scrappy of just bits and pieces of quilts that I made. The other is controlled scrappy using just the shades of green and brown. Have always just sewn strips together and cut 6 1/2 by 6 1/2" squares, never done just blocks before so this mystery is a new thing for me.

Well here are my 12 pressed and have cut the rectangles also. But then Judy had to go and talk about making 36 9 patches well maybe I will make mine bigger or just make 2 of the large size we will see how it goes as I have plenty of the 240- 5" charms swap squares left

When I look at everyone's blocks I look for fabrics that I have used before. Never see any. Amazing how many different fabrics are out there.
They all look great so far!
