Great blocks everyone. I'm loving all the different colors and placement of the colors to give the same blocks such different looks. I think I may remake this one, I don't see enough contrast. What do you think?

Jan ... how does it look when paired with the other blocks? As it sits, I do see contrast but its subtle (in a good way!). If you are making placemats I would leave it as is. If you are pairing it with the other in a quilt let's see them all together as the subtle contrast might get lost.

Thanks, ladies. On my design wall I have one other block that reads "solid" like this one. You're right-I'll wait til they're all done and see if it still fits in. I thought of using a Clorox Bleach Pen and lightening up on of the inner sections, may still be an option.

I have loved all of the blocks so far- but the 'Rays' block is so far my favorite...I am really thinking I need to make a whole quilt with that one! I love, love, love all the different color combinations we are using- all are great, some are down right fabulous! like---gee, wish I had thought of that one. great, fun project- I am so glad I decided to participate in this one.

If you useable bleach pen be sure to neutralize the fabric afterwards as the bleach continues to eat at the fabric and will weaken it. Vinegar or hydrogen peroxide followed by soapy water will stop the bleach.

Beautiful 'eye' candy to see this morning on this site. January SYEs are still a work in progress; meanwhile I can admire the ones posted.

Oooh, FrustratedQ, love the fussy cut corner pieces. I've tried fussy cutting when paper piecing and they always end up backwards or upside down. Need to practice that technique some more.
