    by , 06-17-2012 at 10:25 AM
It seems like forever since I have posted to this blog. I have sew many projects floating around I decided it would be easier to set up several sewing machines with projects in laundry baskets near those machines with the set thread color handy. This way all I needed to decide was which machine I wanted to sit at that day.

Right!!! this was a good idea in theory but there is still only one of me and so many hours in a day. But I am still planning the multiple sewing machine ...

Wow 14 blocks made and 386 more to go. i am setting a goal of making 10 blocks per week for this quilt to at least get the quilt top done this year. this quilt pattern is a 100 x 100 sized quilt so that is 10,000 1.5" fabric squares needed. wow! i am not overwhelmed by any of this yet. i am just taking it one fabric square at a time.

i am using both strip sets and individual squares to make up these blocks. i have so many more fabrics to incorporate into these quilt blocks that ...

so far i have made 7 blocks of 10 x 10 1.5" squares. i am going to set a goal of making at least 4 blocks per week for a total of 81 blocks. i have a goal of making this quilt a queen sized 90 x 90 quilt. i am using both strip sets and individual squares to make these blocks as i do not mind having repeats.

i am working to incorporate into this quilt top all of my fabric loves and all the fabrics in my stash such as african prints (from ghana & senegal), modern prints, batiks, ...

  4. Finished Pillowcases

    by , 02-29-2012 at 01:25 PM
I finally finished these pillowcases for the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge and will turn them in at the next guild meeting of my local Modern Quilt Guild. I am so glad I got these finished as the fabrics have been sitting around looking at me, begging to be made into pillowcases for some time. I obliged those begging fabrics now off they go.

  5. Postage Stamp Quilt Progress

    by , 02-21-2012 at 08:54 PM
so i had this brilliant idea to work on two postage stamp quilts (psq) simutaneously. seriously??? well i am and it is a definate labor of love cutting and sewing thousands of 1.5" squares. my interest in doing these quilts started with participating in several 1.5" square board swaps. i had no idea what i was gonna do with all these squares initially but after discussions with others on the board, i knew i was gonna tackle a psq. then i followed crafty1's record progress on her psq and ...

  6. My 2012 Quilt Journey

    by , 02-16-2012 at 08:32 AM
This year I felt a desire to document my quilt journey. I am embarking on two postage stamp quilt adventures and perhaps I felt that if I do so (document), I would be sure to complete them in some form. Also, I have collected a few finished quilt tops waiting to be turned into quilts for awaiting family and friends. I am not one that likes to have a lot of unfinished projects lying around so something had to be done. Plus I have a couple of quilt orders that need to be finished and I have had friends ...
