1. Featherweight Sewing Table

A good friend of mine gave me a copy of an ad on craigslist for a Featherweight table. I called the lady the next morning and made an appointment to meet her that afternoon.

It is beautiful! She has moved from a house to living in an apartment with her son and she had it all packed up. She had it wrapped in bubble wrap and a cardboard box built around it. She then stuffed any empty areas with crumpled newspaper. It was very protected.

It was like Christmas morning ...

  2. Hobby Room All Torn Apart ... Grandson Here

    by , 10-13-2012 at 09:01 PM
My husband and I share a room for our hobbies and I have removed almost all my quilting stuff from the room and we started pulling his stuff out too ... new carpet and paint, then back it all goes ... maybe ... I am wondering where I am going to end up with all my stuff ... right now it is stacked all over the family room and my longarm ... they will be here on Monday to measure for carpet and then it's just a matter of time for it to be ordered and installed ... plenty of work to do before then ...

I was able to use one of my die sets to cut out block #21 of The Farmer's Wife (now sitting on my sewing machine waiting to be sewn together).

I was able to finish a small quilt that was made from purple scraps cut into 3.5 x 6.5 inch rectangles - not a large quilt, might need some borders.

Then, I moved onto cutting up some denim I have into 6.5 inch squares - am going to use 2.5 inch squares all the way around each of them to make a quilt.

    So many projects, ...

A trip to Salem for a quilt show, via Dalles for fabric and another shop in Salem ... never did make it to the quilt show. We had a fun day anyway.

I was able to buy more fabric for a quilt I am going to make for my daughter - Twister - and my friend was able to purchase a back for a quilt she is making for her granddaughter.

A lot of driving and visiting.

  6. White Rotary Sewing Machine #3

    by , 10-01-2012 at 01:07 PM
Looked on the ismacs website and got a phone number to call for information on White's. I called and talked to "Reba" - she told me my machine was made in 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio - the number on the machine (under the motor) is the model and serial number. Model Number 1X, serial number 1q357.

Still looking for more information and parts.
