My little dye cottage is almost finished, still have to hook up sink and water, and a bit of mud for drywall under the upper windows. But that did not stop me from moving in and Sat. the girls and I did some fabric painting. was so nice in there with the air on as was in the mid 90's here that day. Another couple of weeks every thing should be done and I can start dyeing. Called Dharma and placed a nice order of PFD fabric, I think I ordered 6 bolts. 25 yards each, of 60"wide fabric, that should ...

well yesterday my newest 221 arrived, such a little cuttie! Now to think of a name for her. She makes a wonderful addition to my collection. And she runs so smoothly, she just purrs. I think I will take her to my sit and sew day, Wed. She looks even smaller than the other girls as the flip up part of the bed is smaller than the other ones.
One of my black 221's had to go to the shop to be serviced, the motor was running rather sluggish, so I took her in to have a nice cleaning and grease ...

Well I think I am getting my self in a fix, LOL such a lovely place to be. I have been thinking I need to get a little red barn shed to sit next to my dye cottage, for my finished quilts and hand dyed fabric, that I will have for sale. Now think I will need it it more than ever, as I have a new disease called machine-itess, I really have enough machines, 4 Pfaff 7570's which I love dearly. And a couple of other Pfaffs and a Pfaff serger. One nolting mid arm, and 4 little beauties, my Singer 221's, ...
  6. work on dye cottage

    by , 07-08-2013 at 05:57 AM
Work on the dye cottage is coming along, Wed. I painted the inside, there is still a couple of places that needs sheet rock, but could not wait to get it painted. Then Thur. and Friday I installed the flooring. The walls are painted, "cotton fluff" (what else? LOL) and every thing else is white. The flooring is a white marble look "Alure" water proof, easy to clean. It sure was nice to have air in there when it was so hot out, it got down right chilly inside, but I was working ...

This is my dye cottage, with cobbled walk way and patio that wraps around the front. Mint in barrels smell so nice, lavender in barrel to the side.
