  1. My mini tablerunner in progress

    by , 05-25-2014 at 08:36 PM (Rhonda's Retreat)
I'm going to try to keep up with my blogs a bit better I hope.
Thought I'd share a pic of my mini tablerunner I'm working on. I got the top finished last night and now I just need to back it and quilt it. I use the birthing method since I don't like to use binding. It does make it a bit harder to quilt it down tho. I only know how to do STID so it will be fine I'm sure.

    This tablerunner unfinished measures 9" by 17" so will probably finish at 8 1/2" x 16 1/2" ...

First post is one for advice on a new machine. Just attended a landscape quilting class in BC with my old Elna Air and found it doesn't seem to be good enough anymore. I've started to look at the Berninas and have been mired down with the choices. My friend LOVES her older 930 mechanical, and I see they're still available, but have also been looking at the newer computerized ones (used). Also was shown the 350SE new at a shop nearby ($1599 includes walking foot, class to learn, 1st service next ...

Well, I just can't figure out where I'm going wrong. My squares are turning out to be longer than wide and I can't sew them together edge to edge. I am trying to sew them together so that one square has the strips vertically
