  1. Yes, I know it's been awhile

    by , 11-30-2017 at 07:59 PM
So I'm finally recovering from my hip surgery and ready to get back to sewing again. I've started with clue 1 of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt "On Ringo Lake". Haven't gotten much done today but will save the posting and work on clues as time allows. At least I'm happy with how the first few turned out.

  2. My first quilt.

    by , 11-29-2017 at 10:30 AM
    Hello everyone!
I disovered quilting in the summer of 2016 and wanted to try and make one too.
So I bought some fabrics at a local shop and found a free pattern for a "Scrappy star" block.
I finished the quilt after about a year (working on it in between my other hobbies...) Along the way I upgraded my materials... new rulers, a rotary cutter, and even a new sewing machine...

Hello! I am new to Quiltingboard and relatively new to quilting as well; I have made a few small baby quilts and a king sized one for my niece. Recently, I got married and now I want to turn my consignment store dress into a quilt. My dress was relatively simple with minimal beading/embroidery, but with a long train. I am wondering if anyone has any pieces of wisdom about this type of project. Things you would have done differently, or things that worked well for you? Advice on care once it is completed? ...

I recently bought a vintage Singer 500a sewing machine. I oiled and greased it and found the flywheel to be very loose. What can I do to adjust it. I have to turn the flywheel to get the sewing started.

    by , 11-22-2017 at 01:31 PM
So I want the next red and white quilt pattern to make to be mostly red. I've seen several on Pinterest and love the idea of doing a positive/negative thing with flipping what is white to red and vice versa. But I'm thinking the backing should be red if I do this...
