  1. Inner border

    by , 08-28-2019 at 04:58 AM
    I am working on Edyta Sitar’s Seasonal Silouettes. I would like to “frame” each block before adding sashing. Any recommendations or rules of thumb regarding width of that inner border around each block? Thank you for allowing my return to this blog.

    So I just got a new royal treadle machine from an estate sale and I am having a hard time finding any information on it. I did find information on the company changing names. But I can not find any information on good site to find parts. Does anyone have any links or ideas where to look.

    And it's not a train!

    I got my daughter's quilt center put together and it fits! Whew! I'm proud of myself. Maybe some day I'll brave a Lone Star quilt again but next time with a pattern.

    Three borders left. A 2" white inner, a 3" dark mid, and a medium 5" outer border.

    The next quilt is queued up and ready when this one is finished, maybe next week.

  5. Baby Quilt directions

    My style is taking a quilt without a pattern and trying to figure out how I would make it. This I found online without a pattern and this is how I would make it.

    White fabric for sashings/borders = 1 5/8yd
    C1=.25yd
    C2=.25yd
    C3=.25yd
    C4=.25yd
    outer color border = .25yd

    On the 5.5" square, sew a 1.5" x 5.5" strip to each side. Then sew a 1.5" x 7.5" strip to the top and bottom to form a 7.5" square.

  6. Most difficult quilt continues

    I want to thank everyone for their comments on the last entry. I have been taking notes and did see Jordan fabrics tutorial on the Lone Star to get an idea how to do the half square triangles instead of Y seams.

    I stopped procrastinating and brought the quilt off the design wall to trim the HST on the points and sew the points together. I then squared up each square before sewing the four squares together. I didn't have a square ruler big enough so I relied on my mat's measurements. ...

When I first posted, I needed the motor but was able to find one. Family problem prevented me from installing the motor and my kids bought me a new machine. So, long story short, I am thinking of selling it.

    by , 08-15-2019 at 06:56 PM
    Does anyone know where I can purchase a past issue of Fat Quarterly Magazine? I am looking for Issue 8, which has the pattern I've been earnestly searching for. Miraculously, I found it on a blog or thread right here! The name of the pattern is Modern Spools Quilt. I believe it was on the newstand in December or January 2019. Although I saw something that indicated it was only an e-magazine. I appreciate anyone who can offer ideas on how/where I can purchase either the magazine or a copy of ...
