While at our beach house this past weekend, I went to the local quilt shop in search of some black/white fabrics to finish a project that I wanted to do for the local library. The block I am making is from "Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks, Vol. 4" magazine. I have three made for a wall hanging and need to finish the assembly and do the hand work.

It's always a nice time to visit with the owner who has become a good friend and to do some show and tell.

While I was showing her a block that I was working on (well 12 of them actually), I told her how I had fallen in love with the background fabric and had bought was was left on the bolt at a store back home. I found that it wasn't going to be enough and was looking for a new idea for setting triangles. She said "That looks kind of familiar" and the next think I knew I was buying three yards of my fabric from her. I am hoping it will be enough, but I know where to look if I need more. I was jumping for joy at the find!

Jingle, this one may take some time - each block has 23 1" circles appliqued onto it in the form of a balloon bouquet - I have one completely done, one almost done, four more set up to applique and embroider the strings and six more to set up ...

The directions were for the block only and it is from an antique quilt that is absolutely HUGE!!!! Mine won't be anywhere near the same size.
