I was introduced to the Dear Jane quilt at a retreat back in August 2002 and immediately started one. I am appliqueing mine and using a black outline stitch to embroidery the edges of each piece in the block. I call it "Edges in Black" and am dedicating each block to a soldier who lost his/her life in Afghanistan or Iraq since I began the block in 2002. I just looked at the notebook I am keeping on this project and my last letter is dated Sept. 30, 2004. It has been a while since I worked on it! I write a letter to Jane each time I finish a block and tell her my feelings about making it and what was happening in my life while I was working on it and who it is dedicated to. It's been 10 years since I began this quilt, so time to get it completed. Maybe the wars will end when I finised it!!!

Would you please show yours to us! It sounds intriguing! At the moment it is the only quilt I'm doing but it is not boring as each block is so different!

I hope the wars will end much before you finish yours! I hope I have inspired you to continue with a few more blocks!

I do like your update on your journey through Dear Jane. It sounds like you are having a blast. You must have a varied stash. Such interesting fabric bits. Thanks for all the photos.

I LOVE THAT! Thank you very much for sharing your photos! H-8 is so beautiful! Would I not do it again! Remember: "Finished better than perfect"! It's a great phrase to follow! I I learned with my DJ! A big hug and happy weekend!
