A few years back I bought a Pfaff Grand Quilter and the Next Generation quilting frame thinking I would quilt my own quilts. Wow what a learning curve. I have quilted 25 or more quilts but I never felt like they were very good. I just didn't have the control (or it seemed) and most everything was a simple meander. So one day I took my quilter off the frame and put it on the table and did a few table runners. It made a huge difference. They looked so much better and I decided to try quilts without the frame. Guess what? I am finally feeling good about my free motion quilting. I think a lot of it has to do with my eyesight (how many lines can you get in one pair of glasses) and also the lighting. I've come to the decision, I am taking down the frame and putting it away or selling it to one of our local quilters. I am so much happier FMQ this way and my confidence has improved by 100%.
