going crazy..

hey, im new and i need help. FAST.
so i have a White Rotary sewing machine, and i dont really know what year it was made . but i do have the serial number FR 2206107. But heres what i need help on, the top thread and bottom thread wont catch. and i have no idea why.. i cleaned and oiled and made sure every thing works great, and i go to use it. and it wont catch. Im going crazy because im trying to figure out how to fix the problem and there seems to be little to no information on White rotary machine on line. So PLEASE if anyone has any insite on how to fix this problem reply.

    Hi, it sounds like your shuttle isn't working or aligned properly. With your bobbin out look at it and see if is going through the motions by just using your hand wheel. you can have thread in the top to see what the shuttle is doing with the thread - it should be catching it and letting it go.

    I had this same problem with one of my old machines & the problem all along was just that I had the thread through the needle wrong. My newer machines have the thread go through from right to left & this particular machine was left to right. I have another oldie that was doing that & I had actually put the needle in wrong.

    It sounds like a threading problem. Also, make sure you have the correct needle and bobbin for your machine.

    If it's threaded properly, try a new needle. maybe the old one is bent. If it still won't pick up thread, get it serviced. the timing is probably off. probably a $50 repair
