I went to Shipshewana a few years ago with my penfriend Pat who lives in Michigan. The best quilt shop was the Amish/Mennonite one - it was enormous. You shopped with a supermarket trolley!! I just didn't know where to start! Have a lot of fun.

I jus got back from there. My son and DIL live about 15 miles from there so I go often. You will want to go Yoders dept store. It's groceries, and hardware on one side and fabrics, and clothing on the other. They just expanded the fabric a few months ago. Another place is Lolly's fabrics in the Davis Mercantile building. On the main floor is the main shop and in the basement is the sale fabric. There is also a Bernina dealer that has a good selection of fabrics. Across from Yoders you can find an Amish shop. I'm not sure of the name, but it is right next to the hardware store. If you google quilt shops in Shipshewana you will find some of them There is also a quilt shop on SR20 going towards Middlebury. Maybe about 2 or 3 mile from Shipshewana. In a building behind the Amish house. They have a sign out by the road. Nice selection there. Middlebury has a quilt shop in the Essenhaus shops. Rise and Roll is a reastaurant on SR20 between Shipshewana and Middlebury. They have the best sandwiches on homemde bread. Great cinnamaon rolls also. Are you going to the quilt show in June? June 20-23 Sometimes a few of us get together for a meet and greet in the 5 and 20 restaurant. Google Shipshewana quilt show and find out that information.
