I am brand new to this site and spent the whole might looking at all your letters and pictures. It's unbelievable how much talent is out there! Your quilts and projects are beautiful! I have sewn clothing my entire life, but ama beginner quilter. Kids finally outgrow Grammie's stuff, so I had to find something to keep my mind and hands busy. I've been working on a Dutch Doll pattern and finally completed the quilt top. I think I'm going to have a mix of machine and hand quilting to finish this. I will read this blog every chance I get just to remain inspired by all of you.

    I have never before seen this quilt with this type of sashing/borders. It is beautiful. You did a wonderful job.{I usually find this dutch doll quilt dated and boring, you have changed my thinking.......}

    Thank you so much for the kind words! I finally got the quilt sandwiched and started machine quilting the sashes with a patchwork quilt stitch and will hand quilt around the dolls.

    I got the idea of the diamond points on Fon's & Porter and knew that would help set up the dolls since they are a little plain. The hot pink material was all I had on hand so had to figure out some way of incorporating that color since there was no pink on any of my dolls. I thought a little hot pink diamond once in a while would help out. It turned out a lot better than I really thought it would. Can't wait to finish it and get started on another!
