Hi everyone.
My friend introduced me to quilting and I haven't stopped since. I guess I got the BUG that I was told about. She invited me to go with her and her friends (20) to the Quilt show in Daytona Beach, Fl. OMG, I was in aw at every quilt I saw. We spent all day Friday there (9am-5pm) and then again Saturday morning (9am-noon). I was exhausted. We stopped at several Quilt stores on the way up and on the way back from Daytona. Oh, I live in Palm Beach, Fl. So we drove up in a 15 passenger van and a regular van. It was a lot of fun, I learned a lot.
So, I finished my wall hanging and the quilt store hung it on display because they just got that panel in the store. I am so siked to thing that they thought is was good enough to hang in the store. Since then I have made a purse ( quilted) a Fold n Stitch leaf topper. Now I am working on a tote bag which I will quilt. I certainly have the quilters bug now because that is all I want to quilt - quilt - quilt.
I need to put aside some time from my quilting for the other things that I do. A friend just donated her wedding gown to me so I can create some more Angel Gowns for the NICU at local hospitals. I takes me a whole day to do one gown because they are so small. I enjoy doing work for charities because it makes my heart feel good. Knowing that someone will have something they need weather it be a pretty gown for their still born to wear or a hat n scarf for the homeless to wear in the cold New England winters. There is no better feeling than to give freely.
