List of Recipes
2 lbs Okra
Hot pepper sliced to your desire
1 garlic clove or 1 tsp of crushed garlic
1 tsp mustard seed
1 tsp celery seed
4 tbsp of canning salt
4 cups of vineger
1 cup of water

Bring water, vinegar and salt to a boil.
with okra and hot pepper in jars (pack as tight as you can)
Add a tsp of garlic, mustard seed and celery seed to each pint size jar.

Pour boiling water, vinegar and salt mixture into hot jars leaving 1/4" space add lids and let seal. (We did put our jars, after lids were put on, in a canning pot, and boiled for about 10 minutes) just to make sure they got hot enough to seal.

Sugar Free Recipes:
Here's a nice treat especialy in the warm weather

4-5 strawberries chop coarsely. put them in a bowl. add 1/4 c boiling water and 1 pkg strawberry sugar free jello. stir till jello is melted. stir in 2- 6 oz cups yoplait light strawberry yogerts.fold in 1 8oz sugar free cool whip.refrigerate for 3 hours till set. yummy with a dollup of cool whip on top. you can change it to peach or blueberry orange,pineapple or whatever flavor you want.just change the fruit and flavors of jello and yogerts.This makes a good sized bowl and next to no sugar in it. I should have told you this is like a moose type dessert with little sugar,salt,fat.My brother hates yogert but asks for this at family get togethers.

Crock Pot Recipes:

My mom made two different kinds. Here they are:

1 lb gr. beef, browned
1 can tomato soup and half can of water
1 can veg all

Thats it.

The other one. We always called it RoniMac

1/2 cup macaroni, cooked should double in bulk
1 sm onion, diced
1 can tomato soup and 1 can water
1 can crushed tomatoes
1/2 to 1 lb of gr beef , browned.

saute the onion and beef. add every thing else and cover and simmer for about 15 minutes.

Hi, Crafty Bear. Here's how I make my cranberry jello salad, and everyone raves about it.

Put a pound of cranberries in a big pot with 3/4 to 1 cup sugar and a little lemon juice and 1 cup water. Cook until the berries begin to pop. It will firm up as it cools.

Using one or two boxes of cranberry (or strawberry) Jello, add 1-1½ cup boiling water per box of Jello and dissolve well. Add the cranberries, 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts. 1-2 apples diced, and 1-2 unpeeled oranges, washed well and diced. Pour into a 9x13 pyrex baking pan and chill overnight. You can also add some crushed pineapple, if you like. The orange peel provides a perfect foil for all that sugar.


BMP Potatoes

Cheesy Hashbrowns (Party Potatoes as we call them)
2 Pound bag of Ore Ida Hash Browns-thawed
1 cup diced onion
1 can Cream of Chicken soup (you can use cream of mushroom)
! 16 0z sour cream
! stick melted butter ( I dont use this, it gets too greasy)
8 oz of grated extra sharp chees.
Mix all and bake 375 in greased baking dish for 1-hour.

1 stick butter
4 1/2 cup sugar
1 can pet evaporated milk
Put into a HEAVY PAN, to prevent scorching.Bring to a boil and cook 11 min, stirring often.
Remove from heat and add;
1 small jar marshallow cream
1- 12oz bag chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat until everything is well blended(mixer is good)Pour into buttered 9x12 dish, Cool and cut ito sqs. I add about 1/2 c
peanut butter for taste, can also add nuts. I have used peanutbutter chips instead of choc. Enjoy

1-1/2 cup kosher salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large onion, sliced/diced
1 head of garlic, peeled, cloves crushed
6 bay leaves
2 Tbsp Allspice berries
2 Tbsp black peppercorns
1 Tbsp fennel seeds
3 cups very hot water
5 quarts cold water mixed with ice cubes

mix all but cold water & stir till salt & sugar dissolve. Add about 3 qts cold water, then add turkey into kettle with high sides. Stir well. Add more ice till water covers the bird completely. Cover, Refrigerate, put in cooler w/ ice, or pack in sink surrounded by ice.cover with a lid, then with a bag laid across the top, then a folded towel. Soak for a MINIMUM of 6 hours, 12 is better, up to 24 hours, Drain, straining out seeds, leaves, garlic, etc. into a sieve. Pat turkey dry all over with paper towels, then put into a Reynolds Bake-in Bag, insert a quartered onion into the cavity, & rub over all with oil. Add 3/4-1 cup water to bottom of bag & seal. Roast at 325F according t directions according to weight of your bird. When done, tear bag carefully from over the top of turkey to allow steam to escape & skin to get crispy. Let turkey rest 10-15 min before carving. Use broth for making gravy or soup.

Brining also works well for chicken & pork.

1. Points are calculated by the contents of carbs, protein, fat, and fiber. An egg for example has 2 points. The daily allowance may be 29 points a day and as a bonus a weekly allowance may be 45 points that may be used anytime you need them. A special calculator is used to find points using the labels on foods or the Weight watchers books has them listed. Calories are no longer used in the calculations and all fruits ore zero points and most vegetables are zero points.

This is one of my family"s favorite dinners. It's fast and allows me plenty of time to work on my quilting projects and yet looks like I spent alot of time in the kitchen preparing a meal.
Every night I save the leftover vegetables from each meal. I collect them in a gallon size ziplock bag in the freezer. When the bag is full I pull it out and let it defrost on the counter while I brown one pound of ground beef. Peel and boil about six potatoes and then mash. Mix the meat with the soft vegetables and add a can of beef gravy. Pour into a 9"X12" casserole and spread the mashed potatoes on top. Bake for about 45 min or until bubbly in a 350* oven. Enjoy!
