  1. Should I have a batting for my quilt?

I recently found out that my good friend was diagnosed with leukemia. I wanted to make him a quilt to keep him warm and cozy, but I'm not sure how thin/thick the quilt should be. I read online that even the touch of a sheet could be painful to chemo patients, so therefore I should make a thin quilt that has no batting but has a fleece backing. I have been searching he post and there are a lot of post but not finding anything specific to the warmth of batting. Someone suggested adding a layer of flannel. Sounds like it may work. Im wondering if using fleece would be any warmer than traditional batting. I use a walking foot to quilt and have been using Warm and Natural. Great for a summer quilt but not really warm. Any suggestions. Please if you don't mind mention the brand.

My other resolution is to eat healthly but that doesn't count as it is an annual promise. I work full time for Pellon so I am justified in the delay.

And so, like many of us I began to share my love of the art with others, then began to teach, then shared my work in patterns. Fast forward to then having a book published by C&T. To me having ...
