    3 ties for my DH

I went to Joanne's the other day looking for a car print fleece, didn't find it but did find two fabrics for neck ties for my husband. The one fabric I was able to make 2 ties from one from each side of the fabric. The silver / magenta fabric was especially obnoxious to work with, but made such lovely ties it was worth it.

Sonic screwdrivers, fez, bow ties, and Stetsons are cool.

Very Nice. Do you have a pattern or just make your own?

I have been making them for years. The first ones I made I took apart a store bought tie and reconstructed based on that, but since then I have refined how I make them and have made my own pattern now.

Beautiful ! Ties in the store are outrageously expensive.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone who wears a tie any more. But I do LOVE that first one. It's gorgeous; well they all are but the first one is my fav.

Very cool! I'd love to try this for my hubby who is adventurous in his tie-taste. Do you use a stabilizer between layers?

It completely depends on the weight / feel of the fabric. When I do stabilize I only do the portion that will be below the knot so it doesn't "bulk up" the knot to much.
