You only had 4 major channels; if the President was giving a speech, you had to wait until he was done before you could watch regular programming!

LOL. This is too funny. I'm a 69 baby, so this is familiar, on both front due to the fact that my DM &DD are in their mid to late 70's.

That was great! Thanks for the reminder of my yester-years in the days when you could ride in the bed of a truck!

Heaven help them if they have to calculate something! Plus time management... one had to wait until Monday morning to get milk or bread or eggs or fuel... no stores were open on Sunday! Ahhhh, the good ole' days!!

I was 7 before I saw a tv!!
--------------------------------
I heard about TV while still in my teens, and visited a "rich" school friend just to see what it was all about. There was Dad in his chair nearest the TV, which was a big box in a pretty wooden chest, and the kids had to sit where the grown ups did not, and Daddy got to choose ALL the TV shows, and I think there were 2 channels at least.

We got to eat cookies and milk on prettily decorated metal trays, and all us kids had to clean up everything, missing big chunks of the programs, but the grownups didn't give a hoot about that, kids were supposed to do what the adults said.

I was in my 20s before I had one of my own, and could watch it most of the time, if and when I had the time.
