Default Add a snap to a vinyl tape measure

Somewhere I saw where someone had added snaps to a cheap, vinyl tape measure (not the one that retracts automatically) and I am trying to find this again. Can anyone help? The tape measure was wound in a circle starting at the end. When the winding was completed, there was a snap placed at the end of the tape measure and the other snap was placed where the end snap met the one underneath part of the tape measure. I know this is clear as mud, but if anybody has any information about this, please share.

I know this isn't the project you are talking about, but maybe the directions for adding the snaps might help you with your project? https://sew4home.com/projects/fabric...p-sewing-caddy

Okay, I"m curious. Why were they putting snaps on the measuring tape?

Snaps were put on the measuring tape to keep it from unrolling.

Do you mean something like this but with lots of snaps or just one?

Thank you. I was a bit confused as to the purpose.

I found that the quilter's 120" measure will hold together on it's own if wound tight. Roll it in a circle and then pull it tight every few rounds. Never had a problem with it unrolling, before grands. My grands love to play with my measuring tapes so they are usually unwound anyway.

I believe that was on the Kam Snaps FB page.

I wouldn't think the snaps to last very long, as they will pull out from the plastic measuring tape after a few uses.
