    AG doll clothes done finally!!!

I have been busy making doll clothes, shoes & sleeping bags for my DGD her Birthday is the 24th she will be 10 and she has 3 AG dolls. My doll is Our Generation from Target. The peach color and blue color dress are a pattern I altered from Pixie Faire and the sandals pattern are from Pixie Faire also. The red & white dress is a simplicity pattern and the sleeping bag pattern is McCall's.

She should be thrilled. Great job. I have a hard enough time with real clothes, you are terrific to attempt those tiny clothes.

You did beautiful work. I tried sewing some Barbie clothes years ago and it was so difficult because Barbie is so small.

Excellent work! My GD is coming Tuesday - and I have several outfits to make for her birthday as well. Love your patterns!

18 inch doll clothes are addicting.....really.....not tedious like Barbie clothes and not huge like people clothes. The Americana collection (preprinted , cut out and sew) got me started and a pattern book and now pixie faire... it is so much fun sometimes with leftovers from quilts (sundresses) and..... they all need a doll quilt! Rather than the dress form I 'rescued' a doll from an after holiday sale bin and it was less than 1/2 the price of the dress form. The one variable to watch for is the size of the waist, that can be an inch or more variance from doll to doll and depending if they are always in a doll stand. Sorry this topic really got me chatting.

Love the red and white. Well I love them all but that is my favorite. I have been doing this for my GGD for Christmas. Would love to make a pair of shoes. Would you mind telling me what you use for the soles?
    Thanks

Thank You everyone for your kind words. I have been making doll clothes for over 25 years but for the last 3 years for the AG dolls. Just started making the shoes and I need more practice on them, a learning experience for sure.

nena the soles are made from the craft foam. There is 3 layers for the bottom......1st is the material such as vinyl....2nd is a piece of stiff cardboard.....3rd is the craft foam. I used hot glue to put all together with.

WOW, you are going to be a very favorite grandmother to make such beautiful clothes or her AG. A dear friend is in the midst of a nasty divorce and has already given me several Barbie, plus her little sister's dolls, but there are too many to give to her all at once. My friend set aside an AG doll with bed, dresser, Armoire with some clothes and other items to go with the doll because her daughter doesn't like them any more; but she did take very good care of her dolls, so they are in excellent condition, and Zoe will love playing with them. Now I need to pull out some of my American Girl patterns to make some clothes as well. She will be the best dressed AG doll around. It should be a great Christmas present.
