Yep...all over the country we are having these intolerable heatwaves....the fires are so far mainly on the east coast and down in Tasmania. Absolutely tragic. Every summer we live in fear of bushfires (we are in the hills surrounded by forest and bushland). Hopefully we will be spared, but who knows. We have a plan of action....ours involves packing the vehicles and leaving. We are reasonably organised and have harnesses and pet carriers for all our pets. As much as I would like to try and save our home, our block is too big and the terrain too difficult to even have a chance of saving it....yet alone surviving. Anyway....it's ice-cubes, swimming and ceiling fans....I just can't face the ironing pile today

Thirty degrees F here. Expected windchill 16 tonight. It is 11:30pm here now. Snow with sleet earlier this afternoon.
We have a little dusting of snow, but mostly is ice.
Will gladly split the deference with you.LOL
A hope you all get some relief SOON. Stay cool and away from the fires. You all will be in my prayers!...

well it is now 45c the aircons are working full out and keeping us cool. but I love the outdoors and my garden is cooking
and i melt in this weather. some of the fires are under control due to cooler weather in some parts of Australia but they are expecting the temp to go up again. what annoys me most is most of them a deliberatly lit I wonder how they would feel in they lost their house or a loved one. we are hoping for a cool change in a day or so, it was still over 30c when we went to bed last night @11.30 enjoy your cooler weather,

We warmed up to about 12 F today. Wish we could send a little your way and you could return the favor. Try to keep cool! I'm thinking of you and it's already warmed me a little.

and it is still 37c looks like the aircon will be on all night again unless we get a cool breeze. weather lady said last night was our hottest night in history, but so many refuse to accept global warming.

Oh, dear, I feel for you. I don't care what anyone says about humidity, 100+ degrees fries my brain! But here in Florida, 55% humidity is considered moderate, and pretty darn comfortable. Come summer it will be in the 90% with temps in the 90's. I'm with Tink's mom... I'll take the temperate middle, please!

We have brushfires here, too, but not as devastating as yours. On our flat terrain, they don't get as large, and there is nothing more frightening than flames up a mountain. A friend of mine lost her home four years ago to one. It is a life-changing event, and I pray you & yours are spared, and this cyclone puts a few of them out.

You can always come visit me, it's winter here and the weather has been delightful.
