Yesterday it rained from 5am to 6:30pm here. It was wet and cold outside. I didn't feel like quilting - too dreary - so I looked for something "mindless" to do since that was the state I was in.
I wash all my fabric before using it, so I got out a basket full of pieces and ironed them. It was very relaxing and I didn't have to think. I ironed for about two hours and then folded and stacked the pieces.
Then I swept and vacuumed my sewing area (the whole basement).
After that I decided to put a new cover on my ironing board. It looks nice and clean now.
Watered all the plants down there and came upstairs.
It had stopped raining and the sun was trying to come out.
I cooked dinner for DH and I and called it a day.
I can't wait to get up in the morning and go down and quilt.
Does anyone else ever get into moods like this??? What do you do to get out of it???

I do sometimes. But for me it is usually on bright, sunny days. I love to clean and do housework with the sun streaming in the windows and all of the fresh air coming in. It is especially nice after a rain because then the air is so cool and clean.
When it turns cold, rainy, dreary I just want to go into my sewing room and get to work!
Sometimes it is nice just to take a break and get re-reved up to quilt. I love that feeling.

I have days like that a lot. I always felt I was weird because I have to "be in the mood" to sew. I can't work on a project unless I have HOURS to do it. So not much gets done after work. And, if the house is a mess, I have to get it straightened up first. Then there is the lawns to mow, laundry to do, car to wash, groceries to buy, WalMart run to make. And usually once every weekend, one of my two sons will call and ask if I can come over to help with something at their house. Never enough time.
