I honestly couldn't make it without my "fur babies"! they are there when I need a hug, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to love me! Almost all my pets are rescues, and I wish I had room for more!

Makes me cry. One of our 3 Goldens is a rescue too. My dear Anna, the sweetest girl. She has my husband wrapped around her little paw. It will be 6 years on July 1st that she came into our home.

Such love from those with four feet. I found mine almost 3 years ago in the parking lot at work. Vet said she wouldn't make it, but my Sissy proved him wrong. She found me, just like the furbaby in your story. Loved your story.

Very sweet....my rescuer Topo is my constant companion....for the past six years he has been my shadow. Topo has cancer, so our journey is not destined to be very much longer....their time with us is short, but intense.

What a sweet & touching story. Yes it does bring tears to your eyes. I think that your famliy & Leo are all very lucky. Although I don't have dogs, all of our cats (six inside & one outside) are all rescue cats. Going to the shelters are hard to leave with just one, but if everybody would adopt a pet we could save so many more. I highly recommend it.
God Bless Leo & your family.

Rebecca, such a nice article. Glad you have a new dog and one that you rescued.

I have 5 dogs and three cats, all with sad stories but all are now living a wonderful life----and I think they know it. I also transport dogs on the weekends to get them out of shelters; Georgia has a very high euthanasia rate and the dogs that get saved head to new homes and rescue groups usually in the Northeast. They are so sweet and so grateful for some human affection, even if I only have them for the couple of hours that I drive them.
