Anyone into GeoCaching?
#21
Haven't done geo-caching with a cell phone (or any device) but hubby and I love orienteering with topographical maps. We do it in groups and have 'races' so to speak. The race typically ends at a pub where good old fashioned 'stick to your ribs' food replenishes the day's hiking calories burned. Great fun!!

My aunt and uncle are very into this game. They recently celebrated their 200th cache find. Whoa.
I, on the other hand, am stuck with my outdtated technology cell phone that can only call and text. Oh well. That's all I really need it for anyway!

Yep, us too, but we haven't been in a while. NOt much interesting to do in our area, but we geocache when we travel. Our favorite place was Ireland! My brother and I were racing little stuffed sheep to meet us there, but they never showed up. His has spent several years wandering the UK, mine was all over the US several times and then was stolen.
But I agree, lots of clean fun for all ages!

Since Hubby and I got new smart phones a couple weeks ago that have GPS, we decided to give it a try this weekend, and all I have to say is it is the most fun thing inn the world (next to quilting)!
It's something our little 4some can do together, although it is difficult with a 3 year old. We logged one cache on Saturday, 5 yesterday and are going to get a DNF from yesterday tonight after DH gets out of work. TOo many muggles around to make the grab so we think it'll be muggle free this evening. I have to say I am addicted!
So...any other GC's out there??

My husband is a mega huge cacher..he has over 1400 finds, he does use his phone a little..but mostly uses his hand held garmin. You can find these in every part of the world. We have three sons and they have all done this. He even had our cousins son on his wedding day finding a cach at the church..lol DH is a cach addict. lol
My DH has I think 14 hidden now..
