I have been gone for awhile, so it is time to get back. I will be mailing off my batik on Monday.

Life has been crazy this past year. A year ago this month, lost my dad while I was enjoying a cruise I won from work. I think he knew he wouldn't see me when I got back, as he gave me the biggest hug ever and told me to enjoy myself. Mom has had it very rough, she is slowly getting back to normal. Also found out that she is diabetic, so with me also being diabetic, I have been encouraging her to cook healthier. Since it is just the two of us, she is doing the cooking since I am working for us. This is really working for us both.

I have also gotten an insulin pump which has my blood sugars in better control and I am doing much better.

Best of luck to all of us who are losing weight.

I am in again for August.
I accidentally sent my 3 mos worth of FQ's to Cindy. Ooops. She said that she would send them on to you
I will claim temporary Alzheimer's as well. I have been so busy lately!

Off to go snorkeling today. I am finally getting some excercise in but I have also been packing in some food. The scale I have access to right now is off so I will weigh again when I have my regular scale from home. Now I need to stick to the diet wit out the feed back of daily weigh ins. This is hard for me.

Anyone want to talk air popcorn? You know the stuff now sold all over with advertising on the bag with how few calories it has per cup. I am on a current kick and am eating 3 to 6 cups a day as part of my diet. I actually replaced my bread, flatout, with 3 cups of popcorn. They are both about a 100 calories. When I air pop my own popcorn it taste like styrofoam but the on in the bag has a couple extra calories per cup for oil and it makes the difference. Any favorites? The brand I am currently eating is Cornopolis 33 calories a cup. Part of why I got this brand is I like the color of the packaging and it was the lowest calories from the three brands at the store.

Anna, I LOVE popcorn, but it literally HATES me. Tears my stomach up. Of course, if I didn't think I had to eat the whole bucket, might make a difference.

How wonderful that you found a workable substitute for other carbs. Best wishes!

I love popcorn, and I always use real butter whenever I do have it. It is for me a treat. I have tried other ways of flavoring the popcorn, but I want as close to natural as I can get. I have been getting away from almost all processed foods. This has also help my diabetes be in better control.

I also find that I really shouldn't eat popcorn as an evening snack.

Leann I have the themes for August and September- August- batik, September is blue.
Welcome back Cindy. It has been a while. So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope you enjoyed your cruise. I have heard of others getting the insulin pump and they have also had good success with it.
I went for a bike ride on Sunday. It was such a nice day so I rode about 24 miles. When I got home my DS wanted to go for a ride so we went about 10 miles. That was a little bit too much for my legs and I was tired on Monday. My knee was fine, my butt was sore from the seat, I need a new one. I am hoping to do that on Thursday. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical today. Tomorrow I will do a little bit of arm work. I just froze corn and am canning tomatoes. 7 pints tonight but there are a bunch more to can tomorrow. Not sure how many I will finish because I need to make a raspberry pie for my GS birthday party and I am meeting a friend to go to the LQS and out to lunch. We are going to a Mexican place. I know they have some good choices. Hopefully I can eat the right thing.
Several people from work are doing a plank challenge. I am trying to do it. Over a 1 month period you work up from a 20 second plank to a 2 minute one. I will see. I did 2 this morning for 30 seconds and 2 this evening. Not sure I actually have any muscles in my stomach. Hopefully this will help with that.
Good luck everyone.
Pat

Is it too late to join? I haven't cared about my weight...gave up. Now it's time to think about getting back into a shape other than round! I'd love to join the group if that's okay?!
