I've been making baby bibs with flannel and regular fabric for years but want to make them so they are ''water proof'' I have PUL- which I've used for puppy pads and other things. Would you put it inside 2 fabrics or just back the bibs? Its plain plasticity type of fabric, not real cute! Thanks

I would sandwich it so if someone is feeding their baby naked (or topless) the plastic isn't against their skin.

When I've made bibs, I always sandwich the plastic. I've also made bibs for self-feeders & put a 'pocket' at the bottom to catch dropped food & I put a layer of the top material with a layer of plastic & just add binding to the top of the 'pocket'.

I made some with plastic (like the heavier large size freezer/storage bags) inserted in the middle for the 'wet' barrier. Worked out well, even with washing and drying.

I make baby bibs for my granddaughter by using cotton for the top, rip stop nylon for the inner layer and flannette as the backing. This equals one dry baby after feeding/drinking and one happy mummy as she has less washing due to no wet clothes after feed time.

I have attached a piccie of the rip stop nylon inner and the end product.
